Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

A great imperial IPA, arguably one of the best there is. I will take this beer over a Hopslam, Hopwallop, Nugget Nectar, or anything similar, but I think that the style is overrated. The nose on this beer is one of the most recognizable Ive experienced (with regards to the Imperial IPA style, anyhow) because the drinker gets less citrus and grapefruit peel notes but a bit more pine and malt, which (thank God) differs from most imperials (which this rater contends pretty much all taste the same with little variation). As a server, if someone wants something hoppy, this is my go-to beer because it is damn good.

Bottle. Clear yellow with a thick good lacing white head. Smells juicy and crisp with pine, bread and biscuit. Same notes in the aroma with some mango and peach. Taste is medium sweet and bitter. Medium to full body, oily/creamy texture, soft carbonation. Crisp, smooth, balanced and hides the alcohol really well.

1 Pint 6 oz. Bottle. Pours golden/bronze, thick frothy head, which last relatively long. Aroma is hoppy with light citrus flavors, which is surprising for this beer. Thought it would have a more complex aroma. Taste is however on the spot. IBU are very high, seems higher than 100 and the alcohol content is noticeable but welcoming. The Palate is a blaze with life, carbonation is lively. Overall: Excellent Beer, a true craft beer champion.

Flaske: Gul klar l med et flot kridhvidt skumhoved. Duften er velhumlet med vgt p citrus og let kattepis. Smagen sidder i skabet. I det hele taget en yderst velkomponeret l.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Good choice. Big citrus flavor. (Grapefruit) I enjoy how the heat from the high abv is masked by the malt. The hops is the most prominent flavor, though. (To my enjoyment) Really liked this one. A potential favorite.

Botled on 1/30-13. Pours golden with little head. Aroma is packed with fresh hops - melon, grapefruit, orange zest, even at more than three months it still smells really fresh. A very balanced malt note, straw and cereal-like, matching the pungent hop profile perfectly. The taste is amazing as well. Pungent hops all the way through, resting on a perfect and very simple malt foundation that has just enough body and crispiness to stand up to the assertive hop profile. The 9,5% dont show at all, and it is dangerously drinkable for the abv. This is an ideal double ipa for me - crisp and clean, although still pronounced malt profile, and a bright and citrusy hop profile. Excellent!
