COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The lead hop in Revolution 003 is a new German variety that Brewmaster Matt Brynildson first encountered in its experimental infancy while traveling through the Hallertau region during the hop harvest three years ago. “I fell in love with it then, and I’ve been following its development ever since,” he says. “It’s just loaded with this juicy mandarin orange character that is so distinctively German, unlike anything you could grow here in the states.” Luponic Distortion Revolution 003 offers a mandarin orange and ripe peach character with ample supporting notes of citrus, stone fruit and pineapple. The overall profile is round and juicy, leaning heavily on ripe fruits with minimal dank or piney edges.

My favorite Luponic by far. This beer has become almost mythological to my family. Whenever tasting a similar style, we hold this as the benchmark that that beer should be striving to attain. Previous and subsequent Luponic Distortions are never quite as good (but they always ARE good); with the passage of time and the way nostalgia works, time is working against them. 003 is the best.

355ml bottle from The Grumpy Goat, Reading. Amber colour with white head. Bitter citrus hops, floral hops, soapy citrus, peach, clementine, light spices, light honeydew melon, some weird light tea notes, light bready malt.

Always have a hard time reviewing at revo but today I’ve got a bead on things. Super sweet mandarins, stone fruit, light spice, background malt early on, slightly pithy.

12oz can - old. Looks golden/amber. Aroma of floral/bitter/lightly citrusy hops, some pale and caramel malts, and dough. Flavor the same, too bitter. Average texture. Old can, but probably wasn’t that interesting to begin with if I had to guess.

Tap at BUD, perhaps leftover from their Firestone Walker Event? Light very cloudy gold with a thick eggshell white head of foam. White pepper and citrus zest aroma. Dry and medium to light bodied with a pithy citrus hoppy character.

Can from the mixed pack. Dated August 2016. Over-carbonated into the can. Light hazy lemon color. Fruity spice and citrus sweetness. Bit of earthy-herbal-pine too. Seems a bit too old.
