COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion revolving hop series reaches firmly into the Southern Hemisphere with the release of Revolution No. 004 this month—a mind-bending mix of seven different hop varieties, led by a pair of experimental South African hops. Four South African hops take the lead in Revolution 004. Two are experimental hops with pronounced tropical fruit qualities, along with distinct white grape and floral notes. The third hop presents a lively passion fruit character, while the fourth is more classically noble in profile.

Can from Beer Republic @ Benzai is uitgepierd tasting, 10 cl sample. Nettle, bit pine. Some malty sweetness. Not as crisp as I hoped, but still decent.

Benzai (16533) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2017
Bottle @ Benzai is zo dood als een pier tasting. Clear golden color, medium to full sized a bit rough white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, hops, lightly resinous but I think it’s a little too old (6 months) and the fruitiness has faded. Taste malts, hops, resinous, resinous hoppy bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Decent.

355 ml can. Canned on 10.01.2017.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Resinous hops on the nose, orange, pine, some malt character, grapefruits and caramel. Flavor is bitter malty and resinous hoppy, slightly oily feel too, orange, grapefruit notes and more resin on the lingering bitter aftertaste. Not that fresh anymore but still tastes quite nice.

Bottle from a grocery store in Bridgeport, California. Aroma is bold tropical fruity hops, grapefruit, pine resin, and plenty of citrussy orange. Flavour is light sweet with a firm bitter finish. Body is medium. Quite clean and überhopped, a very pleasant encounter with these South African hops, at least in the hands of dependable Firestone Walker.
