Our interpretation of the rustic Wallonian Saison style is a harmonious blend of rustic grains, spicy yeast and unique sauvignon blanc tones. Inviting lemon grass and gooseberry meet peppery spice and fresh grain aromas. Spicy Belgian yeast create a complex yet dry and refreshing canvas with splashes of citrus and stone fruit with a bright tropical white wine finish. Hop bitterness is assertive yet harmonious rounding out slightly tart and refreshing.

Hazy yellow color on the pour. White head that dissipated very quickly. Aroma isnt the best; banana, touch of clove, and unfortunately, some kind of medicinal, almost vegetable smell. Taste is much better. No veggies, but a light pepper flavor, some citrus, clove. Average body that doesnt really pop. Overall Im a little let down by this beer, but its not too bad. Would probably pass on purchasing again, even at the $6.19 price I got the bomber for.

impressive floral citrus aroma in a yellow gold pour. similarly impressive flavor profile with a fruity bread body and moreish finish. Another winner from Firestone Walker that ticks all the boxes for the style.

2016/12/12 - Pours a deep straw colour with a foamy, white head that slowly reduces and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is slightly tart citrus (orange, lemon), yeast, candi sugar and earthy/grassy notes. Taste is yeast, light residual sugar, orange and grassy hops. Mouthfeel is medium with biting carbonation and a crisp mildly bitter finish. A nice saison with a hoppy finish.

This has an okay lemon and wheatgrass aroma but a little soft, could be stronger. Has a very pretty and steady bleach white head, nice little bubbles and a light gold body. Flavour is a nice fresh mandarine orange and peaches, soft and not sharp. God oiliness on the mouth but not too heavy. Its a good beer, but subtle and not too complex.

From the place by the southport stop. Good, very pale in color, grassy, slightly tart. The assertive hops didnt add anything other than say, this is an American version of the style, so we must add lots of hops. They seemed slightly out of place this time. Serving: Bottle

Scent is winery grape vine like and citrus hops. Very pale yellow. Taste is hoppy, a touch of yeast and crisp for a saison. Clean mouth feel with a bit of residual sugar in the back. Almost sparkling. Tap

Firestone Walker Opal Farmhouse Ale 7.5% This beers been discontinued but is still available in Japan at the moment so nows your chance to try it before its gone. Afterwards itll only be available at the taproom Ive heard. A beautiful crystal clear gold with a thick soapy head foam that leaves a film coating the surface. The aroma is sweet, tutti-frutti candyish, wheat and a touch of barnyard funk. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and a dry finish. The taste is wonderfully crisp, wheat, tutti-frutti, funky barnyard but wonderfully balanced. Man this is a smooth saison, definitely pick it up while you can.

Cloudy, pale golden pour with persistent, fine white foam. Strong, rich yeasty nose right away with some piney hops in the background. Crisp texture and light body with active fizz. Its slightly slick toward the end. Phenol yeast and a touch of mineral water. The hop bitterness gives it the dry white wine finish the description suggests. It delivers a good complex flavor, but in the end it is still a little too much like an IPA. At the same time, I think IPA fans would really enjoy this saison. The yeast and spice up front are sharp but there is an enjoyable hop finish.

Aroma is tart , citrus, lemongrass and earthiness. Sweet light honey and sugar , light funk and slight earthiness . Some orange that pairs well with citrus. The hop profile is sweet and well balanced. Not too bitter and refreshing. Appearance is a hazy gold with a medium fluffy head that retains well.
