Our interpretation of the rustic Wallonian Saison style is a harmonious blend of rustic grains, spicy yeast and unique sauvignon blanc tones. Inviting lemon grass and gooseberry meet peppery spice and fresh grain aromas. Spicy Belgian yeast create a complex yet dry and refreshing canvas with splashes of citrus and stone fruit with a bright tropical white wine finish. Hop bitterness is assertive yet harmonious rounding out slightly tart and refreshing.

Hazy yellow color on the pour. White head that dissipated very quickly. Aroma isn’t the best; banana, touch of clove, and unfortunately, some kind of medicinal, almost vegetable smell. Taste is much better. No veggies, but a light pepper flavor, some citrus, clove. Average body that doesn’t really pop. Overall I’m a little let down by this beer, but it’s not too bad. Would probably pass on purchasing again, even at the $6.19 price I got the bomber for.

Bottle from AJ’S Beer Warehouse. Aroma of yeast and citrus with a dry finish.

A central coast saison sets itself apart from some of the best I prefer from the east coast. Fresh stone fruit, fresh hay, light pepper, lemon, raw bread dough, and some citrus and grass. All work in an incredible blend that doesn’t compete but shines in one way or another.

drdisque (840) - Illinois, USA - JAN 17, 2017
On tap at a pizza place in Chicago. Pours slightly cloudy very light gold. Aroma is light and bready. Very light body, a little spice, a slight yeasty tang, dry clean finish. Very light for a saison but a very tasty beer.

beer-yum (1710) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 6, 2017
impressive floral citrus aroma in a yellow gold pour. similarly impressive flavor profile with a fruity bread body and moreish finish. Another winner from Firestone Walker that ticks all the boxes for the style.

Alpha10 (757) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 28, 2016
2016/12/12 - Pours a deep straw colour with a foamy, white head that slowly reduces and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is slightly tart citrus (orange, lemon), yeast, candi sugar and earthy/grassy notes. Taste is yeast, light residual sugar, orange and grassy hops. Mouthfeel is medium with biting carbonation and a crisp mildly bitter finish. A nice saison with a hoppy finish.
