COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of California—the 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where we’re from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

12oz can. Suffers some from age and being in a can, which mutes the hops some to me and adds a plastic feel. A pretty solid APA. Very classical, none of that new school tropical peach apricot guava action. Classic NW bitterness, very West Coast minded. Quite sessionable, but with enough depth to remain interesting. Well made.

Bottle 35,5cl. Clear dark golden with a creamy white head. Flowery, hoppy aroma. It tastes like a pilsner on anabolic steroids. Plenty of hops gives this beer a nice touch. Medium length.

Clear golden color with a bit of off-white head. Aroma has a generic, earthy hoppy note with some citrus. Taste follows with a light hop bitterness and citrus flavor, overall really light and balanced. Light, dry body, medium carbonation. Overall it’s a really classic, easy drinking pale ale.

Bottle split at GBBF ’16, thanks to James, 09/08/16. Pale golden with a well presented off white cap. Nose is citric sherbets, lemon rind, orange pith, straw, toasted bread. Taste comprises tangy citric peel, pine needle, melon, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a skunky hop wash. Decent enough APA.

P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- I had this beer for about 8 months after canned date for who knows why. Good to find out this beer is still exceptional that much later. Very balanced. Perfect amount of bitterness and loaded with tropical juicy citrus notes.

4.9%ABV. Pale Ale. Poured out gold. 8ºSRM. Nose is citrus and beery. So overall, you get an impression of lemon zest. Mouthfeel is light soapy. Palate is solid pale malt with some sweet, some bread, some milk. Hops are citrus peel, noble bitter. Finish is medium and bitter. Goes on Favorites List!

Can pours a slightly hazy gold color with a big, frothy white head, hangs around for a while leaving lots of lace on glass. Aromas of pine, citrus fruit and a hint of bread. Tastes of oranges, lemon, bread and tree sap. Medium body, soft yet bubbley mouthfeel, nice carbonation, and a crisp, clean finish. This beer is really growing in me now that I have had a few. A nicely balanced and smooth, easy to drink pale ale.
