Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of Californiathe 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where were from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Pours pale golden with a super tiny white head. Smells rather simple, but pleasant; soft malt character with some subtle California style hoppings. Taste is directly bitter with hints of sweetness on the back end. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Firestone Walker Pale 31 finishes with a drying bitterness that calls for another drink.

Clear gold pour with a 1 finger, creamy white head. Sweet citrus and floral hoppy aroma, with light toasty, sweet cereal malt. Sweet, bright citrus aroma, light tropical fruit, caramel, sweet fruity notes and a hoppy acidic twang. Light body with a somewhat dry and slightly sticky feel. Really tasty and nicely refreshing.

Deep gold, clear, thin white head. Aroma of grainy, biscuity malt with some caramel, light hop aroma of citrus/pine. Flavor is similar with a crisp grainy maltiness, a touch of caramel, and a hop flavor that is fairly grassy. Nice drinkable pale ale.

BBE 30.11.2013 - Pours clear golden with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of crisp grassy hops, hints of floral notes, fruits and grapefruit. Taste is smooth, slightly malty and caramely with notes of fruity hops and lemon. Finish is smooth and fruity with some hoppy notes. Quite nice, fruity and easy going pale ale, even though its probably way past its prime.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/15/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, light grass, light pine, light honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Very nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, bread, light honey, and floral earthiness. Light floral pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, light pine, bread, and light honey after the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is damn good session pale ale! Very nice balance of hop and malt flavors; and extremely smooth to drink. No complaints at all, really enjoyed this one.
