COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of Californiathe 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where were from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Bottle. Bought this in our local supermarket (Globus) here in Germany. It was imported through BraufactuM Frankfurt. Very nice ale with floral hop notes. Love this for me new discovery.

Orange-golden and clear with a medium creamy head. Aroma of citrus/grapefruit, tropical fruits (pineapple, melon), spices (maybe cinnamon, maybe a little vanilla), maybe almonds. Tastes very fruity as described, decent bitterness, floral and resiny hop-qualities. Bitter and a little sweet ending with a good moutfeel.

What a great California Pale Ale.... Citrus, floral, hoppy aroma, lovely medium body with a superb dry finish. From sniff to swallow, nothing bad to say about this beer. Pure pleasure...

Sehr rundes Ale, sehr sorgfltig abgestimmt. Einfach lecker!

Like many of Firestone Walkers beautifully hoppy beers, Pale 31 gives a nod to the English style. One place it can be seen is with this beers use of Maris Otter, which gives a biscuit-like backbone to this beers balance. Pale 31 pours a golden shade. Floral aromatics and flavors of lemongrass, grapefruit zest, mango, orange, and black pepper. Bright and medium-bodied, this beer is easy to put away. Definitely a solid example of what Firestone Walker is all about.

Bottle shared by robert at SL. Drank on April 20th. Light golden yellow color. Ok head. Light aroma of hops... Taste wise this is the best pale ale I have ever tasted... Nice hoppy taste. If some one told me this was an IPA I would of believed them. It had a nice hop bite to it. Light in texture. Really easy to drink. Great beer, that could be drank any where at any time. ****update**** picked up a sixer for my self. This beer is the sh!t... Looks like your typical crappy macro.... but really great taste for a pale ale.

A: Pours a deep gold with a nice wheat head. S: Plenty of hops for the style with some mild sweetness. T: Slightly sweet malt with some citrus/grapefruit hops. M: Medium bodied and well-carbonated. D: Quite good in this department. A nice, low abv beer with plenty of hops--my definition of great session-style drinkability. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-01-2009

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass. Had less than a -inch of head. Color was a lighter orange/gold combination. Slight lacing left after pour. Very slight film throughout the glass. Smelled plenty of strong flavors. First smell is citrus, mainly lemon and orange. Some pine in there, too. Smells crisp and fresh. Tasted like a combination of citrus and pine needles. Followed with some grapefruit and orange peels. More hoppy than I thought it would be, but overall a pretty good balance. Good mouthfeel. Refreshing throughout and never lost its taste. Crisp and refreshing. All the flavors work together well. Higher on the carbonation. Have always loved this beer. Despite finally rating it, I hardly think it changed from my first sip a few years ago. Crisp, clean and refreshing.

Bottle. Poured golden with a sweet malty aroma. First taste noticed a light, yet crisp carbonation. Overall went down smooth and very refreshing. Sweet taste.
