COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale 31 is an ode to our home state of Californiathe 31st to be named in fact. Beer may not be associated with terroir the way wine is, but we believe that where were from impacts how our beers taste. This California Style Pale Ale represents the bold yet approachable spirit that embodies our state. A crisp floral hop aroma precedes a medium-body and clean finish.

Pours a clear, pale copper, small white, fizzy head that doesnt stick around. Small bubbles pepper the body. Aroma is fruit, malt, caramel, honey and a nuance of sour yeast - husky sweetness cut with the hops. Quite clean and crisp and a little dry in the mouth. A bready, malt sweetness offset by the bitterness of hops that are big in the middle and finish, but never overdone. More bready malt in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied and quite lively carbonation. Another nicely balanced, quite sessionable APA.

There is more to the floral citrus smell and golden hue than actual flavor. It smells great, pine and a back note of citrus but becomes a watered down version of their other pale ales. Good if you are drinking a bunch of these over the course of a day. A bit lacking if you expect a hop note finish, deceptively smooth with no hops lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
