COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabajava ia an ongoing series exploring the infusion of coffee into our Parabola Barrel Aged Imperial Series. This first offering is a collaboration with the famed Intelligentsia Coffee Company, utilizing their El Diablo espresso blend. This beer was crated for our June 16th Father’s Day brunch at Lot 213 in L.A. The coffee brings intense coffee house espress aroma - roasty carmel, toffee, molasses and fresh ground coffee notes. The flavor melds well with the big rich character of the stout - complementary roasty flavors, dark baker’s chocolate, and more caramel which pairs well with Parabola’s rich malt and smokey oak bourbon notes. The finish is amazingly smooth and integrated. I’m pretty stoked on the results!

Draft at Snallygaster 2017. Poured a pitch black, almost velvet black color with a nice, small tan head. Aroma was strong roasted notes, dark bakers chocolate and coffee. Flavor was really smooth for being 15% - actually was shocked that I liked it, especially when it was 85 degrees without a single cloud in the sky. Flavor was really nice, rich chocolate, roasted notes. Java.

Aromas of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, charcoal, nuttiness, raisins, figs, cocoa nibs, oak, subtle barrel wood, leather and bourbon. Pours black with an almost non existent foam or lacing. Taste brings massive notes off chocolate, coffee, black licorice, star anise, charcoal, charred malts, burnt caramel, almonds, heavy char, roasted malts and wort malt. Mid palate offers bourbon, oak, toffee, charred aged malts, leather and barrel wood. Finishes heavily boozy with massive amounts of coffee, chocolate, dark malts and bourbon. Overall, what a great twist on an already perfect beer. You get the original Parabola notes accompanied by massive amounts of fresh coffee. Coffee oils, coffee rinds, espresso and mocha are present throughout the palate as well. A+ rating.

Restrained aroma in an inky black pour. Amazingly laid back flavor profile with cocoa, coffee, caramel, and vanilla (to name a few). Pretty much the best beer on offer around Beervana 2017 (albeit not at the festival itself) and a tribute to the US/UK beer making tradition.

Enjoyed on draft at Pine Box, Seattle, with Matt. From notes. I believe this was left over from their anniversary party. All I know is that I was both surprised and happy to run into it. Hoping for this beer to be super smooth, it wasn’t quite. Very boozy all together for me. A ton of chocolate and straight bourbon on the nose. Chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and sweet, boozy bourbon flavor. An absolute sipper for me to say the least. If bourbon is your go to, this is incredible. I can’t complain too much. It’s exactly what they say it is. Coffee and chocolate, soft linger that actually outlasts the bourbon a bit. Flavorful for sure. Good qualities here.
