COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Parabola has been a major component of past anniversary blends and is one of our most aggressive offerings. This beer features bold bourbon and tobacco aromas and a rich dark chocolate, charred oak flavor. Parabola is best enjoyed in moderation and is a perfect beer to pair with those chocolate dessert favs.
An extension of Quercus Alba the Firestone Walker Barrel aged program. Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

My new favorite beer. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is very much bourbon with hints of chocolate. The beginning of the sip gives you a very hot, boozy flavor, but the oak, chocolate, vanilla, and even a bit of cherry flavors mask the high ABV after the initial taste. Aftertaste is lingering malt and a hint of vanilla, and the mouth feel is also very nice for a beer with such a high alcohol content.

Sweeter than I imagined but very nice. Bourbon, oak and perhaps caramel flavors are right up front and powerful. Full bodied beer that lingers on the palate with a sweet finish.

Just a special beer -- dark in the glass, dense and milkshake-thick. Aromas of mostly chocolate, but also bourbon and roasted coffee beans and fireplace. Molasses. Vanilla and cookie. Maple syrup. So complex. Bright flavors, and a long, long finish.

650ml bottle from Elizabeth Station. Vintage 2014. Pours an almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, burnt sugar, some roasted seeds, little bit oily. Taste is similar with chocolate, dark fruits and bourbon notes. Chocolate and bourbon aftertaste. Quite boozy stuff. Aftertaste is the best thing that this beer does have in my opinion as the burnt sugar doesnt almost present there.

The base for this beer reminds me the base of Bellwoods 3 Minutes to Midnight and Skeleton Key. Though the burnt sugar has less presence here as it is, probably, hidden by barrel aging process. As I am not a fan of such flavor I cant rate this beer higher. But if you are - you will like.

On tap at CBBs Imperial Beer Event. Deep black with a very thick light beige head. Big sweet bourbon and chocolate aroma. The taste is molasses, chocolate and bourbon. Delicious but simpler in profile than expected.
