First off this isn’t my favorite style. Kind of tastes like wort. Tastes like a wit, fairly sweet. Decent for the style but not a big fan.

12oz bottle -

To say this was average, is acutally a compliment, because it could be really bad. Thankfully the beer is in the hands of a master of his craft, and this American Wheat (one of the few styles that I really don’t enjoy very much) is drinkable with the hot-wings I had. Clean flavors, light banana and cracker dough. Finish is clean with no lingering flavors. Mouthfeel is light-bodied, carbonatation is kept low. Good session beer.

Bottle:   Orangish straw, thick haze, moderate white spritzy head, dies quickly, sparce lacing.   Strong nose of hay and sweet grass.   Smidgen of wheatiness.   Sweet wheatiness on the tongue.   Not real heavy, but luckily for an American its not sulphuric.   Has a grassiness that dominates.   Almost seems like a stronger pils with some wheat malt.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean exit, but again more grassy than wheaty.   Pilsner like American Wheat I say.   Decent, but needs more wheat body, heavier... know what I mean Vern?

Wow...Details has the production specs and brewing program? Anywho, bright, tasty wheat beer. A bit sweet and not much to look at, but the yeast flavors are fantastic...emphasis on the too sweet. Lost a lot of points on that one. Aftertaste is a bit off too. Still, a solid contender for top 50 by style and a good beverage.

Bottle. Hazy orange peel with no head. Aroma is fruity bubblegum. Flavour starts weary but runs through to a powder chocolate pale. Finish is lightly bitter. Carbonation is high

355mL bottle poured a hazy golden-orange color with a nice white head and some spotted lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and some yeast and spices. Taste is malty sweet with some spice and a mild hoppy finish. A nicely balanced brew which is easy to drink and quite enjoyable.

Fatalstrike (130) - Cerritos, California, USA - OCT 5, 2011
Not as much aroma on this one as I was expecting. Some yeast and spice. Pours a hazy orange with a short lived white foam. Taste up front is a tad of malty sweetness followed by some wheaty tartness and spicy hops and cloves bringing up the rear. Fairly hefty body for the apv. Tastes like a weizenbock to me with some belgian wit leanings. Not too shabby. Not the most sessionable of wheat beers.

12oz bottle pours clear gold with thin off white head. The aroma has spicy yeast, a faint lemon acidity and then wisps of wheat and banana. The taste is similar with an initial pulse of spicy yeast and a faint lemon note before sweet malt notes, cane sugar and some wheat join into the fray. Into the finish lighter notes of bubble gum and banana come to the surface as it fades away into the after taste.

thetmaxx (917) - West Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Poured from the bottle. Pours like a wheat, unfiltered, straw colour. Aroma is a lot weaker in the banana and Clove than most wheats. Flavor is great. Palate is full bodied, finishes oily. Overall a great summer beer. Very sad I didn’t grab it before, I thought it was a cream ale, I had it confused with a beer from Anderson valley.
