Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Tap at Eureka. Rating #93. Hazy yellow with a bit of orange and a pretty nice white head that stuck around for a bit. Big wheat aroma, sweet and a little citrus spice. Lightly sweet, lemony and pretty nice summer sipper. (1779)

The problem with many domestic wheat biers is that they taste, well, wheaty in a way that is unpleasant to me. Not the Solace: this has a slightly sour, crisp taste that is welcome with almost any kind of food I can imagine. At 6% it’s got a nice bite and it’s thicker than most brews. The head is pretty non-existent which is a bummer for my local bar keep but I’m going to tell him to keep pouring it anyways.

Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, butterscotch, apple, and a hint of banana...definitely not what I anticipated and not all that appealing. It pours a cloudy dull orange with some sediment and a one finger orange-tinged off-white head that fades quickly to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with buttery caramel and butterscotch. The finish has light-moderate apple, light citrus, spice, and a touch of banana. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. I generally like unfiltered wheat beers, but this one isn’t working for me and really doesn’t have the characteristics of a wheat beer.

12 oz. bottle from bevMo - Pours a hazy amber color with a half finger thick white head. very light spotty lacing. Aroma is esters (banana), spice, and light yeast. Flavor is the same with the addition of some lightly sweetened malt. Medium body. A very nice beer.

RedSox2004 (1961) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - JUN 3, 2011
Cloudy yellow with a bright white head and ok lace. Citrusy hops are most evident on the nose, with hints of bananas and toasted maltiness. Bananas came through more strongly in the taste, with caramel sweetness and, surprisingly, a touch of smokiness. Light to medium body, high carbonation, and a lemony finish that included the smoke.

greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUN 3, 2011
Pours a hazy straw color, thick head, lively carbonation and a ton of lacing. Light, refreshing, and easy to drink. Aroma and flavor is sweet, with hints of clove, banana, and citrus. Decent summer brew.

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Pours hazy amber with a white head. Smells of citrus, wildflowers, sweet wheat. Tastes of citrus, sweet wheat, lightly spicy with gingery hints on the finish.

An excellent wheat. Light and refreshing for the warm weather. This one was a cloudy yellow with a nice head. The aroma had lemon, malt, banana, some clove. The flavor had the same elements. Very thirst quenching. This you can gulp down cold.

illidurit (2354) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Cloudy gold pour with a wispy white head. Aroma is sweet and fruit-salady, mainly banana with a candied citrus note. Smooth wheaty palate with a refreshing citric twang and the odd watermelon seed note. Drinkable and quenching, maybe a bit on the watery side. A nice warm-weather beer.

Lagunitasfan (1323) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 5, 2011
12 oz single from Beverages 4 less in Santee. Thanks for having singles. I wish more shops would. I’ll happily buy a sixer of this for a hot summer day or barbecue party. Nose is peach/apricot and dry yeast with wheat. Pour is hazy but bright amber with brown chalky chunks sunk to the bottom. Taste is lovely mixture of stone fruit, citrus, wheat, and spice. Full body but light tasting. Big mouth full of flavor. Great beer.
