Bottle from BevMo. Light wheaty nose. Somewhat sweet, with some yeastiness. Sweet graininess up fromt. Fairly thick and smooth. Some sweet yeasty notes in there as well. A little spiciness to go with a touch of hoppiness in the finish.

Pours a nice sunset orange, slightly hazy with a nice white head that collars well. Sweet malt and esters on a nice nose, good banana as well. Medium-full yeasty mouthfeel which coats the sides of the tongue but disappears quickly. Nice banana and wheaty taste. This is like a jacked-up hefeweizen. Very crisp dry finish. Really enjoyed this on a hot summer evening.

Sample at Rubicon on 8/7/10. Pours a hazy gold with a medium white head. Aroma of banana and wheat malt; not much else. Sweet malty flavor with a bit of spice and banana along with wheat.

Not to get all scientific but this beer is crap. I was duped into buying it based on a recomendation, but ended up having to wash this shit taste out of my mouth with some miller highlife I had laying around.

Cloudy orange pour wit h dish soap head. Toasty bread aroma. Yeasty and sour. Alcohol flavor underlies it all. Palate is light and oily with soft carbonation and an astringent finish. I am not enjoying this beer. [12 BM]

12 ounce bottle. Cloudy orange, no head. Aroma of citrus. Taste has orange peel, slight grapefruit, malt. Not bad.

This isn’t like a lot of wheat beers I have had so I’m not real sure just how to rate it. It pours a medium amber with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. No real aroma to mention. The taste is different, I get some sort of fruit but I’m not sure just what it is. I would like to do a side by side comparison with another wheat beer just to be better able to judge.

(12oz bottle). Pours yellow-orange with quickly disappating white head. Aroma of banana, slight funk, there is some tropical fruit, but the aroma is of dried fruit (don’t know which one, maybe pineapple?). Taste is sourish, but with an underlying sweetness. There is an element of some type of fruity hard candy to this beer. Medium bodied with oily/creamy texture. Cabonation is lively and finish is smooth with subtle bitterness. I can’t say this is a great beer, but I find it refreshing and the more I drink it the more I like it.

Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet with over ripe bananas, bubblegum and a little wheat. The flavor is also very sweet and thick for a wheat ale. Hints of lemon rind, banana, and a little clove. Too big and sweet to be a real summer refresher. Not a bad tasting beer, but heavy handed for the style IMO.

Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - AUG 5, 2010
12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Cloudy orange pour with about a half inch white head. Smells like wheat, bananas and a little bit of orange peel. Flavor is much the same, though the wheat seems a little off-putting. Fairly refreshing on a hot summer’s day though.
