COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian Quad by recipe, but aging it in spirits barrels garners its own category: Central Coast Quad. A beer formulated to sit on the sweeter and malty side so that we could utilize it for blending. Turbinado brown sugar from Mexico and Belgian candi sugar add wonderful molasses flavors. It has a full body and lush texture with barrel expression all over this beer: toasted oak, coconut, leather and cigar tobacco.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2014 Draft at Barrelworks. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Sweet sugary nose. Taste is really nice, near overpowering sweetness followed by an almost cinnamon spiciness. This stuff should go into a bourbon barrel ASAP to chill out for 2 or 3 years!

Bottle, 2017 vintage. Rich molasses aroma with sweet brown sugar, dark fruit, leather, tobacco and oak. Pours dark caramel colored with a thin tan head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with rich molasses, brown sugar and dark fruit sweetness with a full body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes extremely smooth with leather, tobacco and oak flavors with a bit of warming booze at the end. Wonderful stuff.

Sweet chocolate, caramel, dark molasses. Clear, dark brown, small, frothy, beige head. Heavy sweet. More sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, molasses, more chocolate, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful ASA, rich, complex and well-balanced. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, Canada Water.

355ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 17. Pours dark brown, extremely thin off-white head. Aroma is caramel / toffee / syrup. Taste is slick, moderately sweet with smooth candy sugar, toffee, brown sugar, with a rich barley wine-like sweetness and some bourbon notes. Complex, layered, interesting American Strong Ale. Probably would've gone well with a cigar, and I don't even like cigars. This beer would probably turn me onto cigars.

Keg at SBWF Clear mahogany colour, small head. Huge aroma of vanilla and caramel. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Molasses and oaky vanilla. Sticky caramel, toast and mild spice. Warming finish.

Bottle from Ales Unlimited SF as 2017 Stickee Monkee Vintage 004, enjoyed as a night cap in hotel in Ventura. Pours amber brown with beige head. Nose is burnt sugary sweet, sweet oak, toffee, coconut. Tastes very sweet, candied sugar, toasted oak, toffee, cigar, molasses, figs, dates, warming booziness. Very sweet yet can be considered nicely balanced, has enough body in it. This is how I like my slow sippers when they are not imperial stouts.

Wow!!! Simply unbelievable!! Exquisite dark pour w/ ruby red highlights, tan head, & brilliant lacing. The aroma is complex w/ bourbon & toffee really standing out. The taste is deep & rich full of flavor while having an amazing soft mouthfeel. A beer this strong should not go down this easy! The bourbon just accentuates the robust amount of traditional Belgian quad notes! Expensive & worth every penny! Maybe the best beer I've ever had!!
