COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big boozy bourbon and American oak aromas combined with soft chocolate malty undertones. Complex malt flavors framed in oak, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, coconut and just a touch of dark cherry. This is definitely a sipping beer, best served in a brandy snifter. This ale pairs well with dark chocolate and sturdy cheeses.

Note: Sucaba is the beer formerly known as Abacus until the Winter 2012 release.

Draft at DLD. I get Bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla, sweet malts, caramel, and some other sweet candy aromas. Nice oak presence, but not over powering. Great beer.

Bottle. Pours a cola colored, could pass for coke. Aroma is awesome. Caramel, malt and hops. Flavor is boozy caramel, oak, toffee and malts. Fuck, this beer is incredible. Not really boozy, but the alcohol is there.

Well, Im a beer hoarder. I had 2011 and 2012 vintages of this but wanted to do a vertical so I hoarded this instead of drinking it. Finally in 2013, I was able to buy 5 of these so I opened a fresh bottle. Wow. Heres the review.

A - Deep mahogany leather and amber colors. 1 finger head that fades fast.

S - (Its allergy season so I am stopped up and can only smell a faint level of caramel/toffee)

T - lovely vanilla and chocolate. very sweet , minimal malt profile for such a large 13% beer. impressive how damn drinkable this thing is!

M - Medium body, minimal carbonation

O - Wow. This is impressive. Its a shame I cant smell this beer as thats half the taste but seriously, for a 13% BA Barleywine, even fresh, this is smooth, drinkable, very impressive. World class for sure.
