Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with minimal tan head. Smells oak, cherry. Tastes sweet, rich, creamy, oaky, bourbon, lot of cherry flavor, currants. Very very good. Extremely happy with this beer! FriarHop (139) - Long Beach, New York, USA - APR 12, 2013
Pours like a semi-flat coke; also looks like coke. Big toffee, raisin and woody aroma. Not overly sweet, nor syrupy, nice dry finish. This is a great barley wine.

Very nice barley wine. Hides the ABV quite well, which is no small feat for 12.5%. A little syrupy mouthfeel, with a bit of bourbon overtones, and some fruit notes. I like it.

2013 Vintage - pours a dark amber with a slight tan head. Nose is dark fruits, wood, bourbon, vanilla. Mouthfeel is really nice, heavy, but not overbearing. Lovely complexity here without being a total mess. Fantastic beer. topherh (1929) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - APR 3, 2013
Pours dark brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is big caramel, vanilla, boozy. Flavor is much the same with a good bit of earthy oak. User134089 (1644) - - MAR 31, 2013

Poured a black amber color with three fingers of khaki cream head. Nice amount of thick, sporadic, foamy lacing on the sides. Good retention all the way down.
Smelled sweet, red wine, bourbon, sour cherries, caramel, light vanilla and light smoky tobacco.
Tasted so smooth out of the gate as the alcohol is well hidden. Got sour cherries, vanilla and not as much bourbon as the nose. Some oak and toffee. Tasted a bit like warm Cherry Coke. Light smokiness.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Soft (below average) carbonation. Warming, smooth finish.
Wow! I finally got to try this and it didn’t disappoint. Smooth and flavorful all the way down. Would love to get my hands on this again. chris__hartley (449) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2013
It pours opaque mahogany with plum highlights on the edges; the head is off-white and foamy. The aroma has notes of: prunes, dates, brown sugar, molasses, caramel, and tobacco. The taste is medium sweet that finishes medium bitter; there are notes of: prunes, dates, tobacco, burnt sugar, and alcohol. The palate is full-bodied, thick, sticky, has light carbonation, and a long bitter finish. Overall, it’s a fierce and rough barley wine - but so flavourful. Pours a cloudy, dark red brown with a root beer head, which attenuates quickly. Oak bourbon, toffee, and coconut aroma. Silky, creamy mouthfeel and just a flood of magnificent flavor. Alternating chocolate, toffee, and coconut with overarching bourbon. Finishes with a little alcohol warmth, but it’s not unappealing. This is a pricy beer, but it is worth it to try
