Bottle at THE Barley Wines Tasting - London. Many thanks to Bruce for this one. Pours mostly clear ruby-amber with a frothy, off-white foam head. Lots of brown sugar and toffee in the nose, some dark fruits, grapes, moderate roasty wood. Big sweet flavor, some alcohol punch, toasted caramel, dried berries, boozy wood, slight caramel. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Modest heat to finish with toasty sugars, lightly torched wood, some sticky brown sugar, light earth. Strong but quite good throughout. Nice depth and intensity. 22 oz. bottle, courtesy of Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), split with manuchampions, pours dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of bourbon barrels, dark fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Flavour is very liqueur-like, with notes of sherry, port, caramel, brown sugar and sweetness. Very well-balanced with the sweetness just hit right. ABV is incredibly well-worked in. Outstanding.
