Aroma creamy caramel some piny tequila. Tastes caramelly. Some tequila. Too much caramel milk.

mcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 1, 2017
On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out loads of fresh tequila barrel, with loads of woody character. Flavour is along the same lines, with intense tequila barrel scorching the palate, with loads of dry wood. There’s an underlying light oat character providing structure. The barrels are kind of out of proportion with the very light body, so you get the boldness of the abrasive tequila barrel and a lighter body. Interesting, fun beer, but not a top tier Firestone Walker beer.

solidfunk (8954) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - APR 10, 2017
More tequila than a Tijuana barcrawl. Black pour with ok head. Tangy finish. Some roast. The regular merkin is far superior. Tap at Hazel.

thepatrickman (1347) - Jevington, East Sussex, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2017
Draft at EBF 2017. A tasty variation on an excellent beer. The tequila barrels add some tannin bite to the fudge of Velvet Merlin, but it does dry things out as well, leaving it slightly thin. Still, this is experimental, interesting, and really tasty.

Big Wood 2016, Brouwer’s, Seattle. Sweet, coffee malty aroma. Light but solid tequila too on the nose. Thin, nicely smoky and creamy body. Great smoky tequila note. Body is a bit disappointing. But flavors are great.
