12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled 5/29/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, pineapple, herbal, floral, pine, bread, caramel, and light earhy spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great strength and balance. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, herbal, floral, pine, caramel, bread, and herbal spiciness. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, herbal, pine, caramel, bread, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic hop flavor complexity; with an awesome balance of malt sweetness with bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and crisp mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed on the finish. Overall this is an outstanding IPA. Great hop flavor balance and malt/bitterness balance. Really enjoyed this one, I wish I could get it around me.

Bottle (12 oz). Clear pale orange with a medium foamy off-white head and some lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine and hops. Taste is about the same. Medium but sticky bitterness. Mouthfeel is dry. Good carbonation. Refreshing and well built IPA. Very good!

Appearance: Big pour leads to big head. Three fingers in my tuliped tasting glass, to be exact. Retention is moderate, with the foam hanging out for a bit. Lacing is superb. Beer itself is a hazy orange with the head being a slightly off white. Aroma: Big citrus nose of grapefruit flesh and rind. Notes of pine sap with a malt undertone of doughy sweet bread and marzipan. Taste: Sweet maltiness is perfectly balanced with the crisp, citric like nature of the hops. The bitterness is borderline abrasive. However, it toes the line and maintains a great balance with the fairly sweet malt profile. Expertly done. Palate: Appropriately full bodied without being unctuous or cloying. The carbonation is just enough to, again, keep things balanced. Overall: Firestone has mastered this one and I dont think it needs any tweaking. Definitely deserves a spot at the table of best American IPA mentions.

Golden to light amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Pungent aroma of resiny hops, with hints of sweat. Very good toffee flavor, the hops have a distinctive citrusy character and plenty of citrusy resins; the final is pleasantly abrasive and long.
Fresh and excellent.

One of the best IPAs out there. I prefer hoppy beers, but this isnt overdone. Just the perfect hop bitterness. And it has the best malt sweetness of any IPA Ive tried. Almost as if the sweetness comes from something other than the malt. I tried this beer on a recommendation, and it may have become my favorite.

Pours a golden copper with a grapefruit citrus aroma. Taste is a wonderful balance of strong bitter with medium strong sweet. Bittersweet finish is clean and ends smoothly

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2012 Big, frothy head. Uniquely creamy, with sweet caramel malt and grapefruit notes that tangle with a sweet hop backbone. Creamy mouthfeel, impressive balance throughout the long finish. Sweetness defines this brew but the hops complement it perfectly as it evolves.
