An instant classic, Union Jack is the recipient of numerous awards including back to back wins at the Great American Beer Festival. Union Jack is abound with hop aroma and character. In fact this well balanced, west coast IPA is dry hopped 3 separate times, each lot giving it more and more of the grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor it is known for. Overall it utilizes over 4 pounds of pacific northwest hops per barrel.

Love it. Crystal clear yellow-gold colored. Could use a little more of the citrus/perfume aroma. Maybe Ill try a fresher bottle. The flavor is really well balanced between sweet malts and tasty hops. Smooth, strong and lasting bitter finish.

Bottle at The Bottle Lab, Leek. Pours a clear pale amber colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of pine, orange, certain medicinal qualities, some lemon, a little grapefruit, a hint of red fruit, toasted malts, slight caramel and subtle grassy, herbal hops. Taste of orange, grapefruit, resin, some lemon, perfume, a little herbs, a hint of red berries, toasted malts, a touch of caramel and slight grassy, herbal hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A dry, resinous, grassy, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. With a name like Union Jack IPA it should be British styled with British hops but as an American hopped IPA this is great. Pungent citrus, resinous and grassy hops with a roasted malts and subtley fruited, malty balance. Great IPA, up there with the big boys of American brewing.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2017 Bottle. Clear orange colour, minimal white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, grapefruit and tangerine. Taste is light+ sweet, medium bitter - citrus, grapefruit, pine, resin and light notes of caramel. Medium+ body, average carbonation, oily texture. Well executed, but again - travel from USA to Poland takes too long...

355ml can. Hazy gold colour with a creamy white head. Nose - pine and grapefruit. Taste - grapefruit, orange zest, caramel and pine. Piney and citrusy finish, and once again zesty. Awesome IPA. I like everything about this.

This used to be one of my favorite IPAs but I hadnt had it in a while so I was unsure how it would hold up. Fortunately, it is still really good. It has a nice fruity, piney nose. It has a strong taste of grapefruit and resin and is a bit more bitter than many modern IPAs, but it is very well balanced and ultimately goes down pretty smoothly. For whatever reason when we poured the first can in a glass it tasted kinda mediocre but then when we had out straight out of the can it was way better, it might have just been a dud bottle but now I am sticking to drinking it out of the can anyway!

Clear medium golden color with a foamy head. As advertised this has loads of hop depth in the nose but enough malt to be noticed in spite of the resinous hops. Nice balance of citrusy hops and sweet malt, very fruity with a soft mouthfeel and a lingering bitter follow.

Bottle. Deep Gold/Amber in colour. Very Hoppy; piney, resinous and oily hops. Fruity; citrus grapefruit and orange; and pineapple. Malty; caramel, toffee, toasty malts. Hoppy bitter citrus fruity throughout with a dry hoppy finish. Really liked this a lot. Very drinkable. Very Nice IPA! (2009-12)
