COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

A finger of tan head on a pitch black body. The aroma is strong burnt malt. The taste is roasted malt, a touch of chocolate and only the mildest bitterness at the end. The texture is, well, velvety smooth with low carbonation. The burnt malt dominates here, which I like. It’s a top stout.

Bottle from trade with michaelinwa. Pours pitch black with a perfect 1cm head that fades normally. Leaves a bit of lacing too, great appearance. Aromas are sweet milk chocolate and fresh espresso. Love it, kinda smells like chocolate milk with just a hint of espresso. Taste is solid too. A bit sweeter than I normally like but the chocolate and espresso quickly take over. Nice bitterness in the finish too. Moderately thick and very creamy mouthfeel is pretty nice. Very nice stout, lots of flavor packed in at only 5.5%. If it was just a tad less sweet it would probably be my favorite non-imperial stout I’ve had.

Bottle pours a black brew with a thin tan head. Scent is chocolate, roasted malts and toffee. Taste follows with a round feel. Nice.

Pours so dark a brown its almost opaque. The head is beige and adequate. The aroma is coffee, lactose, and choco---late!. The finish is bittttter and unrelated to the flavor. Poor melding due to the separation of appearance, aroma, and flavor. The aroma even lends a sugary sweet quality... not favored. The flavor is better with a good dose of malty roastiness.

Pours black, great chocolate, nutty, espresso aroma. Roasted coffee bean and chocolate taste. This was one of the best stouts I’ve had the pleasure of drinking.

Good stuff. Well balanced and very smooth. Just getting into stout’s and find this a pretty good example. On tap from The Archer in Fairhaven, WA

From a 12 oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods Devon PA. No date. Drank from a mini snifter. Pours a semi clear dark brown. No head and no lacing. Very little aroma. What's there smells of Moxie.... And that's the way this review is going. Mouthfeel would be light for a porter, let alone an oatmeal stout. Pretty dry and watery too. Taste is of water, coffee, cola, dirt, styrofoam and something else I can't put my finger on but that doesn't belong in this beer. Wow was this poor. It was everything the description didn't say it'd be. PASS! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mari’s. Pours black with some red around the edges. There is a small tan head that hangs around for awhile. The aroma has a good bit of coffee, some chocolate. The taste is sweet chocolate that flows into a mocha flavor.. and is finished with a nice hop bite. This is delicious and I can’t believe it has this much flavor at 5.5%.

A decent stout with no exemplary features. Good rostiness on the malt though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
