Pours so dark a brown its almost opaque. The head is beige and adequate. The aroma is coffee, lactose, and choco---late!. The finish is bittttter and unrelated to the flavor. Poor melding due to the separation of appearance, aroma, and flavor. The aroma even lends a sugary sweet quality... not favored. The flavor is better with a good dose of malty roastiness. Pours black, great chocolate, nutty, espresso aroma. Roasted coffee bean and chocolate taste. This was one of the best stouts I’ve had the pleasure of drinking. JenConCol (29) - - FEB 17, 2013
Good stuff. Well balanced and very smooth. Just getting into stout’s and find this a pretty good example. On tap from The Archer in Fairhaven, WA dagimp (1008) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 17, 2013
From a 12 oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods Devon PA. No date. Drank from a mini snifter. Pours a semi clear dark brown. No head and no lacing. Very little aroma. What's there smells of Moxie.... And that's the way this review is going. Mouthfeel would be light for a porter, let alone an oatmeal stout. Pretty dry and watery too. Taste is of water, coffee, cola, dirt, styrofoam and something else I can't put my finger on but that doesn't belong in this beer. Wow was this poor. It was everything the description didn't say it'd be. PASS!

Bottle from Mari’s. Pours black with some red around the edges. There is a small tan head that hangs around for awhile. The aroma has a good bit of coffee, some chocolate. The taste is sweet chocolate that flows into a mocha flavor.. and is finished with a nice hop bite. This is delicious and I can’t believe it has this much flavor at 5.5%.

A decent stout with no exemplary features. Good rostiness on the malt though

Bottle. Black pour with a fleeting tan head. Smells faintly of espresso. Taste is creamy chocolate, nutty malt, and a bit of coffee. Also tastes a bit flat; finish is dry and abrupt. ivyman123 (18) - Indiana, USA - FEB 11, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2013 It is like... rich dark chocholate with hint of milk. A boozy bitter-sweet warmth not unlike amaretto. A full and balanced beer with a rather semi-sweet finish. Color is between velvet and coffee. The head is fleeting yet creamy and lacing. ccex (1313) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 11, 2013
12 oz bottle pours black with a decent tan head. Aroma has lots of espresso/coffee and roasted malts with a bit of chocolate. Body is medium with some carbonation. Mouthfeel is creamy. Taste is slightly sweet with a bitter finish. A very good, easily drinkable stout but not one of the great ones. Voodoo (667) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Poured a dark brown with a quickly vanishing head. Taste of coffee, quick hit of smoked malt and bitterness but very hollow mouthfeel which ends with carbonation instead of taste.
