Pours mahogany with medium off white head that didn’t last. A little lacing. Aromas of oats, chocolate, a little roastiness. Taste is roasted coffee with cream, chocolate, hints of sweetness and oats. Finish is creamy and then dry. grampageoff (16) - arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Nice dark color you’d expect from an oatmeal stout. A bit thin in the mouth, but really tasty. Lots of caramel malt and cocoa flavor. I’ll buy this anytime it’s in season. braznadian (59) - Washington, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Pure black stout with one thumb of thick tan head. Coffee and cocoa dominate the nose. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Creamy velvety texture very pleasing. Has a fairly dry finish. Very nice stout.

Appearance was clear root beer with creamy diminishing tannish 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet chocolate, soft coffee, oats, caramel, roasted malts. Taste are sweet chocolately, vanilla, oatmeal, roasty expresso malts, hints of herbal spicey hops. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with meduim body, an average sweet oaty cocao creamy cleanish finish. A prime example of a oatmeal stout. Thisis12ptfont (1221) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - DEC 9, 2012
Aroma of oats, vanilla, herbs and barley. Thick black in color with a small tan foam. Remarkably smooth flavors of oats, cocoa, espresso, coconut, vanilla and barley. Finish brings notes of roasted caramel, molasses and coffee beans. Overall, very complex flavors with a strongly noticeable roasted trait to it. I’d give this an A+ rating. It’s thoroughly delicious.

Aroma is chocolate and subtly coffee. Pours dark brown and a light head, very inviting. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, but neither is overpowering. Making it a very well balanced stout.

Nice beer. Yummy taste.... Front beat: sweet but not too sweet perhaps its Something on the back beat that was a tad rough...distinguishing it from other stouts. Well done!

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 RE_RATE 03/13. kept at 3.4 rating. not bad but me; could have more of a palate; I don’t get the smoothness of oats; finish is just slightly off/odd. 12 oz bottle to glass; purchased in CA during vacation. was looking forward to this one - overall a little dissapointed; nothing bad but nothing stands out. not much aroma - dark brown almost black pour. palate is medium with much light carbonation (if that makes sense). Taste has some powdery cocoa flavor to it with slight roast and maybe coffee. finishes slightly dry and bitter. natejgood (527) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Pours a dark brown with a light beige head comprised of larger bubbles. Aroma of malts, raisins and chocolate. Light coffee flavor with a hint of dark bitter chocolate. Pleasant in the mouth and the flavor lasts and lasts. Plenty of body without being at all heavy, especially for an oatmeal stout. brinehart (213) - Colorado, USA - NOV 29, 2012
Deep dark winter stout. Lots of coffee and creamy roastyness. The nose is a little soft. Pretty high carbonation might be adding to bitterness and taking away from something otherwise very very good.
