A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

Aroma is chocolate and subtly coffee. Pours dark brown and a light head, very inviting. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, but neither is overpowering. Making it a very well balanced stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice beer. Yummy taste.... Front beat: sweet but not too sweet perhaps its Something on the back beat that was a tad rough...distinguishing it from other stouts. Well done! ---Posted via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 RE_RATE 03/13. kept at 3.4 rating. not bad but me; could have more of a palate; I don’t get the smoothness of oats; finish is just slightly off/odd. 12 oz bottle to glass; purchased in CA during vacation. was looking forward to this one - overall a little dissapointed; nothing bad but nothing stands out. not much aroma - dark brown almost black pour. palate is medium with much light carbonation (if that makes sense). Taste has some powdery cocoa flavor to it with slight roast and maybe coffee. finishes slightly dry and bitter.

Pours a dark brown with a light beige head comprised of larger bubbles. Aroma of malts, raisins and chocolate. Light coffee flavor with a hint of dark bitter chocolate. Pleasant in the mouth and the flavor lasts and lasts. Plenty of body without being at all heavy, especially for an oatmeal stout.

Deep dark winter stout. Lots of coffee and creamy roastyness. The nose is a little soft. Pretty high carbonation might be adding to bitterness and taking away from something otherwise very very good.

Bottle. Pours very dark (filtered) red brown with some fine khaki head. Settles in minutes with sparse lacing. Aroma is roasted, sweet, oats/cereal, caramelized sugar. toffee. Flavor is mildly roasted, sweet, with a nutty, mildly roasted finish. Soft carbonation, medium body and smooth texture. A tasty, toasty oatmeal stout.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with fine off-white head, settles quickly with no lace. Aroma is roasted malt, mildly smoky, mildly nutty, sweet oat. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate up front, with a mildly roasted, smoky finish. Soft to moderate carbonation, medium-light body, and mildly smooth texture. Smokier than I recall, and not quite as smooth. A good oatmeal stout. Score: 3.7

Bottle at Pumphouse. Pours dark opaque brown with a finger of diminishing tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, subtle oat/grain. Flavor is sweet, nutty, malty up front. Nice mild, sweet smoky roasted finish that lingers. Significant roasted/smoked malt character. Deep, rich, smooth. Moderate carbonation and medium body. Slightly oily and mildly astringent finish. Tasty, rich, and complex, a very solid stout. Score: 3.5

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 Very enjoyable, rich, and smooth oatmeal stout. It taste just like its aroma predicts of malty coffee and chocolate. My favorite stout so far. Yum!!

Year old bottle poured black a quickly receding fizzy head, once settled with zero head all that remained was a very fine rim of lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and toasted malts. Flavors of strong coffee, bitter chocolate, and smokey malts with subtle notes of hops. The finish is dry and smokey. I generally do not care for this beer but I feel it has gotten better with age, this has been an enjoyable session!!!

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Pours very very dark brown with a tan head leaving great spotty lacing. Aroma has expresso, chocolate and caramel. Taste is of sweet caramel, coffee and some bakers chocolate. Smooth and tasty. Finishes sweetly bitter, medium long. Very nice.
