COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A decadent Oatmeal Stout brimming with cocoa and espresso aromas. This beer features a rich, dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavor with a creamy mouth feel and wonderfully dry finish. The addition of U.S. grown fuggles hops contributes the perfect amount of bitterness to this exceptionally balanced beer.

On draft at Zodo’s in Goleta, CA. Ebony color with garnet highlights and small tan head. Aroma primarily dark roast coffee and bitter chocolate. Flavor follows suit with a bit of fig and herby hops noticible as well. Quite nice. Medium body and prickly carbonation.

12oz bottle received as an extra in trade. Thanks Kev! Pours a jet black color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, roasty, chocolate. Just a little heavy on the palate with soft, smooth, creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, chocolate, roasty, coffee, with a light, bittersweet finish. An excellent stout for not being an imperial.

mensch (289) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - APR 25, 2012
Deep opaque brown, unimpressive fizzy little head. Impressive cocoa and coffee aromas. The body is a bit too thin for the style, but the flavor is all there. Deep, dark roasted malts with the coffee and chocolate, then followed by a dry huskiness and burnt toffee notes in the finish. Rich, complex and delicious.

Naven (1001) - Poway, California, USA - APR 22, 2012
12 oz bottle. As good as any Oatmeal Stout out there. Chocolate, espresso, and a roasty, nutty flavor dominate. Smooth, creamy texture. Highly drinkable.

Smells of coffee and chocolate, white thin head, light taste with good flavor, but thin texture and body. Easy to drink.

Coffee and dark, bitter chocolate. Very drinkable, light body. Good lacing, my kind of stout-highly attenuated.

poisoneddwarf (2690) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 15, 2012
12 oz bottle. Aroma is nice and sweet: toasted marshmallows and chocolate. Pours opaque black with a medium collapsing tan head. Taste is sugary sweet (not cloying) and finishes bitter. Carbonation is average and the mouthfeel is, well, velvety. Delicious.

Pours an opaque black with a tan head that quickly fades into nice lacing. The smell is magnificently full of espresso notes and a touch of chocolate. The taste doesn’t quite equal the smell but is still very good! It’s pretty well balanced with bitterness hitting up front and leaving a nice velvety chocolate feel at the end. A very good stout but not quite the same as the bourbon aged merlin on draft.

Pint at Horse Brass. Deep brown. Airy cap that reduces. Great lacing on the glass. Coffee chocolate nose. Taste is same. Light spices. Dry finish.
