Finally, someone bottled wizard blood! This potion pours black with hints of dark plum which I swear is the magic part. Either that or liquid velour. It smells of cocoa, molasses and super espresso and delivers taste-wise with that and nuts, dark toffee and some peaceful hops, just sitting in an armchair by the fire and letting the malt magic manifest. Feels a bit syrupy but not sickly so. DavidWoodruff (631) - Windsor, California, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Appearance: Dark brown with quickly dissipating tan head.
Aroma: Sweet mocha
Flavor: Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted grain.
Overall: Nice, smooth and full bodied. RafeAU (628) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 19, 2015
Bottle in LA. Clear very dark brown, bubbly off white head doesn’t last. Roasted malt aroma. Flavour has roasted malt, some cocoa. Not sweet. Some roasted malt astringency and medium bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body. Really well balanced oatmeal stout. Nothing to fault here. Nice beer. Tasted on nitro at Quencher’s Saloon. It poured an opaque brown with a dense beige head and solid lacing. Rich chocolate malt nose with a taste as smooth as French silk. Bold, tasty, and so easy going down. Aml42000 (625) - Washington, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Lovely oatmeal stout. Opaque black with a lighter tan head. The nose shows a mix of dark roast coffee and some dark brooding fruit. Full bodied, but with a fresh mouthfeel. Very balanced and delicious stout.

Dark brown with a huge tan head. Tons of dry malts and oatmeal flakes come through in the aroma and flavor. Some dark chocolate as well. I don’t pick up on much bourbon, except for just a bit of sweetness that leads to a long, dry finish. Medium bodied with super smooth texture. If it were more available, it would be my new session stout. Good stuff!
Poured from a 12oz bottle. Color is very dark brown, almost black. Two finger tan head. Smell light amounts of coffee, oaky, malty. Flavorful, you can taste coffee, toffee, chocolate. The MERKIN is good stuff. mkgrenwel (619) - North Shore, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 29, 2015
Black with brown highlights. Slight tan head. Aroma of roasted Brazil nuts. Quite appealing, actually. Flavor is dry, oily, roasty, nutty. Some bittersweet cocoa. Body is medium, palate is slick and oily. Peanut butter, coffee, roasted bitterness. I'm enjoying the uniqueness. Really doing something different with the stout/porter style. Would be awesome on a crisp fall night. Larry_Duffman (618) - - DEC 3, 2015
I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a black color with a quickly dissipating tan head and little lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and some chocolate. The taste is coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar, and milk. It’s pretty smooth and creamy. This is a good stout. Miked1687 (608) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 4, 2014
Bottle to glass. Dark oil slick pour with a medium khaki head. Nose is coffee, oatmeal, wheat puff cereal. Taste is coffee, oatmeal, cereal, soy sauce. Smooth bodied mouthfeel.
