Taster at Holiday Ale Festival. Really balanced combo of dark stout flavor and slight sourness from the gueuze.
Odd beer, interesting. On tap at HAF14. Pours a cloudy brown color with a small white head. A big sour woody fruity nose. The flavor is base chocolate, sour fruity additions that mimic a fruity sweet gueuze. Not really balanced but two flavors. OK. Borup (14332) - Albertslund, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2014
Draught at CBC 2014. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, caramel, oak, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and coffee. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Dark black in color, thick an head. Lots of aroma and flavor. I loved the bourbon flavors and finish. This was a super beer. Lots of sour and barrel flavors linger. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 28, 2012
Tap @ Holiday Ale Fest 2012... Poured near black with a lacy, gray head. Aroma had hints of salty brine and vinegar. The base beer of Velvet Merkin came through but was definitely tarnished by a butter wood and pickled vegetal tone. Why was this made?
