Bottle. Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - grey head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, moderate vanilla sugar, moderate whisky alcohol, notes of peat. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long to average duration. (Starts and finish is very dusty). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish is light to moderate alcoholic. (080408) yespr (45508) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2007
50 cL can. Pours with off-white creamy head. Colour is clear peachy (orange into pale red). Aroma is all that one expects from a good whisky: rope, smoke, fishingboat and tar. Taste has the same but drowned in sweetness. Strange thing to blend it like that. Bitter finish. Won’t return - strange combination in taste while the aroma is promising after a strange colour. The aroma is of rope, tar, peat, and malt with notes of sweetness. My daughter of seven thinks it smells like me!?! The color is red-orange and it has a fine but collapsing head. The flavor is way too sweet, but with nice notes of malt, peat, rope, and tar. This beer would be great if it wasn’t so sweet. It is lovely complex with great accents, but the sweetness from the added candy sugar kills the greatness, but I still think it is an interesting beer to sample. joergen (28177) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 19, 2005
Clear amber coloured with a medium sized off white head.
Sweet aroma of honey and grains with notes of smoke.
Sweet flavour of honey and malts with notes of smoke.
No bitterness. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 28, 2006
Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, slight wooden hints and some barnyard. Flavour is very sweet caramellish malts, with slight hops. Absolutely no connection to whisky, except for the slight wooden hints, that can be from an oak cask or something...

Sticky sweet, smoky.
Terribly unbalanced. Undrinkable! Don’t listen to Bov! ;-)

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, deep amber with a huge, stable head. Smoked aroma, pronounced sweet flavour and notes of whisky-malt (and strangely also of rum). Surprisingly weak body for such a strong beer. 261001 Travlr (24913) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 3, 2010
Looks like a dark yellow pils, with a lively effervescent head. Scant lacing.
Aroma of oak and maple syrup, with a background of tin can.
Flavor of boilermakers nd Maker’s Mark.
Lighter body than expected.
An odd beer. Worth trying once, I suppose, but don’t search too hard for it. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2012

Clear amber beer, good white head. Sweet peaty nose. Light soft palate, a little dry. Sweet lactose creamy malt and sweet peat. Nothing much else going on here. Different and surprisingly drinkable.
golden orange, sweet malt nose, sweet malt hint of whiskey but much sweeter despite not actually containing whiskey from what i could tell.
