OK, long enough rating pause - getting the shakes. Three leftovers from dark corners of my cellar. Not ALWAYS bad for the beers’ image, however. Orange-golden beer, end of bottle fully opaque-flunky, well-carbonated; small whitish head. Oxydized (cookie) and very fruity notes: blackcurrant and valerian spring to mind. Actually, ageing has benefitted this beer no end. The horrible, soapy, perfumed flavours from the young beer have gone, leaving an ever so slightly sourish and quite fruity impression overlying oxydized cookie malts. Finish reminds me of dusty artichoke. Very empty mouthfeel, but dry at the same time. Served quite cold, it is even refreshing. It’s got its points, like that. If you encountered it, leave it in your cellar and forget about it for a decennium. It might reward you with something halfway decent imdownthepub (14553) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2004
Bottled, Pasteurised. Pale yellow beer, carbonated head. Big floral perfumy chemical note, very difficult to drink. jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 6, 2003
Ok, I don't like woman that wear perfume. Especially when it's too strong. But I can live with that. But when they put it in my beer I hate it!!! This is worse than a chili pepper!!! Had this one a few years ago by the way but I'm scared of re-rating it ;) Oakes (17676) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 4, 2001
Always a favourite. Pretty far from beer. Not necessarily awful, but if you’re looking for a beer, look elsewhere.
