A warming Imperial Brown Ale loaded with complex malt flavors and balanced to style with subtle hop additions rounding out the brew. Sure to convince Cousin Eddie that this is better than Ellen’s eggnog.

Bottle. Brown beer with a dark cream head. Malt and light caramel aroma. Caramel/toffee and malt flavor with backing PNW hops. Medium bodied. Toffee/caramel lingers with backing piney/grapefruit hops.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark copper with a foamy beige head. Aroma of rather nutty malt. Maybe a chocolate hint. Med body, maybe better. Flavor is dusty; slightly nutty; somewhat roasty malt; seems to have an earthy chocolate bit. Better than oh so many brown ales.

DocLock (11189) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2016
Clear dark brown with khaki head. Nose is toffee, corn flakey malt. Tastes rich, with caramel malty notes, some toffee, eathy, and hoppy finish.

Bready malts, biscuity, caramel, earthy hop. Pours a dark amberish brown with lasting frothy off white head Bready malt flavor with toffee and caramel, earthy hops. Medium full bodied with medium co2, some alcohol warmth, lingering bitterness. Enjoyable beer. Bitterness from good is a bit high in my opinion. Would prefer a more malt forward beer in a brown ale ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2016
Aroma of mild malt and toffee. Pours a cloudy root beer brown with a non-lasting ivory head and minimal lacing. The taste is malty, with hints of nuts and toffee. A hops note in the finish. More flavor as it warms. Slight slick mouthfeel. Medium-light body and mild carbonation. Overall, a nice version of a brown ale. Would drink again.

Pours murky brown color with aroma of nuts, toffee, and light roast. Toffee and nut flavor with light roasted malt and some dark chocolate. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown body under a thin fizzy beige head that faded to nothing. The nose is nutty and malty with a light roast coffee note and some light hops. The flavor is pretty solid, lots of nuttiness and a restrained sweetness up front, fading to a slightly more bitter and coffee laced finish. Medium bodied and mouth coating with light fizzy carbonation. A light hint of alcohol on the finish. Pretty decent stuff, but truly I just had to buy it for the label. Didn’t disappoint though.

Strong brown. Deep color. Had heavy mouth feel. Thick. A bit like a bock and porter with heavy brown. Bottle

Bottle from Costco. Not so surprisingly, it’s brown, with a fluffy cream colored head and light lacing. Aroma of toast, cocoa, grass, and toffee. Taste is really toasty and a little bitter with a fair amount of alcohol. Medium bodied and slick with average carbonation. Not bad.
