hershiser2 (3700) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - AUG 7, 2017
Bottle from Total Wine, Fredericksburg. Pours hazy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus peel, stink bug, light floral and honey notes. Flavor is slightly stale citrus, dough, pine, burnt honey, resin. I wouldn’t call this good.

Cloudy copper orange, little off white head.
Aroma is faint...bread dough and pine resin/gf hops. Light, though, perhaps a bit stale. Average body. Decent bitterness and balance, but the flavor doesn’t pop either. Meh...

Marigold, pencil shavings, and honey nose. Murky ochre, quickly dissipating medium yellow head. Stale hops, pencil shavings, orange peel, marigoid, dried leaves, tea. Medium body, resinous, astringent, moderate carbonation. Good complexity, but very stale.

raphael (1295) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 17, 2016
Used to love the fish tales IPA, A quick hint of almost cherryish malt flavor quickly overwhelmed by metallic bitterness with very little sweetness coming back to balance, and thin in the mouth, a little bit flat (here at the brewery?) Resiny aroma with caramel and salt.

3.5
PorterPounder (8313) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 18, 2016
Daytona Beach, Fl - Total Wine & More - 12 oz bottle. Hazy, medium orange pour, sticky, snow white head decent lacing. Aroma has some orange marmalade accents, a hint of smelly socks. Solid bitter flavor, grapefruit citrus notes, hint of caramel sweetness, but kind of one dimensional. Sticky, rich mouthfeel. Solid IPA. reminds me of how they used to taste back in the ’90s.

Light brown orange from a 12 oz bottle. Drove all the way to N Carolina for a beer from Washington, what-evv. So astringent and bitter, right from the start. WHEWWIE. Terrible chewing on green grapefruit rind bullshit. Taste is over the top in bitterness, way over the top and the finish is a big bitter kick in the nasty jaw. Way too much for this lager lover, go figger, just another of the thousand terribly on style bitter IPA out there. Tastes like somebody mixed hand soap in this in the end. Somebody get me a good fresh lager as a chaser to rinse my mouth out. Bitter bullshit reprise.
