Big Belgium flavor and finish. I had this the other day the crew brought one out for the beer geeks to try. It was a tasty and aged very well. Lots of dried fruit and light esters from being old. hopscotch (11113) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 7, 2014
Bottle... Hazy, dark, carmel-colored pour with no head. The aroma offers fruity notes of pear and peach accompanied by a nicely-meshed undercurrent of vanilla and toasted oak. Full bodied with pillow-soft, nearly-expired carbonation. The flavor is malty, fruity and tangy, featuring loads of caramel and a nice measure of marmalade. Finishes malty, warming, oaken and slightly acidic. Bottle courtesy of 50belair! 50belair (3643) - Florida, USA - JUN 11, 2014
Bottle. Nothing wrong with a 13 year old BA triple for rating number 2000. Thanks to my friends at Bottleworks for hooking me up. Clear burnt orange pour with almost no head. Sweet caramel and vinous aromas. Big caramel, mild vinous, and oak notes. Muted orange undercurrents. Good body and mouthfeel. biggsbowler (625) - Port St. Lucie, Florida, USA - JUN 10, 2014
Bottle - thanks 50belair - pours amber. Smells of wine and grapes. A nice malty backbone, some sweetness. I'm not sure what this was like 13 years ago, but this is kind of like an English barleywine and pretty good.

750mL bottle, 2001 vintage. Poured a lovely shade of fiery medium orange with a nice cap of toasty beige head. The aroma picked up toasted, well-aged fruit and biscuity notes joined by tart lighter fruit skins, oak, and honeysuckle.. soft and remarkably well balanced. The flavor found pineapple, vinous notes, oak, and honeysuckle over slightly grainy biscuit and light molasses.. finished tangy with tasty wine barrel over dry, grainy biscuit and pale malts. Medium-bodied with a bit heavier feel than I wanted on the palate.. low carbonation.. good overall feel, but not great. This needs to be made again.

2001 Bottle:   Dirty orange tinted caramel, moderate frothy off-white head, fairly sticky lacing.   Looks like it still has some legs after 10 years.   Mainly an Oakish nose.   Subtle aspects of marmalade and candied citrus peel.   I had one of these many years ago, and I can tell that its soften quite a bit.   Very minor hints of leather and musty barn.   Soft and subtle sweetened woodiness on the tongue, of the Oak variety.   Malty, moderate sweetness that balances well with the woodiness.   Very smooth, actually after 10 years this one has aged very gracefully.   Not as bright as I remember, but instead perhaps a bit smoother and more subdued.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Not like your normal Tripel.   Barrel aging on this is the one thing that seems to have really stood the aging.   While not as complex as I remember this one from years past, it has aged beautifully and still offers a big glimpse of how this was a few years ago.   Probably not best to wait any longer on this one.   One of the better barrel aged beers I have had for a while, considering its 10 years old!   Their 2009 was... lets just say nothing compared to this 2001 bottle.   Nice work Fish Tale!   Why not re-create more of these? fonefan (49403) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 15, 2011

Amber color, small white head. Oak, vanilla, fruits, raisiny aroma. Medium-bodied. Raisins, fruityness, a bit oxicid flavors. Wineous and cyrapy. Perhaps a bit too old, still drinkable.
2001 vintage bottle via trade, shared at andrews today. Pours nice orangey with a tan head. Nose is excellent rich, fruity. Taste is incredibly smooth with great complexity carbonation. Really stupendously incredible.
