Medium-bodied with an appealing amber hue, this is the First Ale of the Republic. Its organic pale, Munich, and crystal malts create a gentle sweet character that is difficult to resist. From organic Hallertauer hops come a zesty flavor and aroma that beautifully balance Organic Ambers malt profile. The result: Truly delicious ale that salutes organic farmers and all the goodness they bring to our tables.

Hazy amber color with a nice frothey, rocky beige head. The aroma was very much like iced tea...some nice malty sweetnes also. The flavor was more malty sweet with a definite hops bite to ie...slightly earthy and burnt. Soft, medium thick feel.

I have low expectations for an amber. Good copper color. Sweet malt, floral hops, and a slightly bitter finish. Not complex, not great, but very drinkable and with a low alcohol content it makes a good enough session beer.

Slightly hazy mahogany color with nice head and great lacing. Aroma is almost non-existant, nothing great. Flavor is malty with a hoppy presence. Finishes slightly buttery with a PNWern hoppiness. Overall this is an average amber with some good qualities that can be easily overlooked.

Pours a hazy golden with white head and nice lacing. Citrus and floral hops are prominent in the nose. Hoppy flavor, some fruit, some clove. Organic, but good.

Eh, it was koay, I suppose, not what I expected from Fish Tale. I find this one to be slightly below average for them, it still had that distinct Fish Tale flavor, but nothing really to write home and rave about.

A restrained aroma. Pours amber brown, nice tan head, carbonation low. Fairly average. Some hops and malt but muted and unflavourful. Not a beer to search for.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2005 Second bottle 2005. Found the aroma amazing and the beer malty, foamy, dry and very good for the style. First Bottle. Very light head. Copper colour. Sweet malt and light hop aroma. Hoppy flavour but a beer that I found hard to get a handle on. I would like to try it on tap.

Had on tap at the Fishbowl Pub in Olympia. Found this to be subpar for this brewer. Very dissapointed. Nothing exciitng going on - typical light amber color, mild hoppiness, off white head with slight lacing. Tastes a tad bit artificial.

Pours a cloudy light amber color with a very small head. Taste starts sweet changing to an odd apricot flavor and finishing with a lingering dry aftertaste.

When it comes to fishtales i'm an automatic fan this one isn't an exception to that very nice dark amber color, small to no head what so ever.Malty sweet aroma with a small spiciness and a definate hop presence, and a slight hint of fruit as well.Malty taste, mild fruit tones with a strong presence of hops that just leap out at you.there is also a slight sweetness to this brew that fades to hops quickly, leaving you with a slight spicey, citrus, hop after taste. This is a fine brew and well worth trying more then once, but worth having around on a regular basis.
