COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Swordfish Double Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA) is dark in color, with a prominent “Northwest” hoppy aroma – citrusy, piney and resinous – with sweet malt, hints of roastiness and toasted malt. The flavors strike a beautiful balance between citrusy Northwest hops and, to a lesser degree, roasted, chocolate malt or caramel notes. Despite it’s rich color, the body is more reminiscent of an India Pale Ale, not heavy like a porter or stout. It takes the very deft hands of our Fish brewers to make these flavors play well together so that they don’t fight one another. But as you’ll see with Swordfish CDA, when that perfect balance is struck, something sublime happens; the result becomes more than the sum of its parts and you’ll finally taste what makes a Casdadian Dark Ale so special. Available April 1st – June 30th in 22oz bottles & draft

22. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Plenty of drippy lace. Big tropical fruity nose, tons of forward citric acid showing, very present, very pleasant, very sweet. Creamy medium body. Lively carb. Very much on the sweet side, showing caramel and black bread along with tropical fruit notes. Mild sweet finish. Very agreeable and unchallenging CDA, super approachable and agreeable.

650ml brown bottle. Very dark brown pour, small tan head which leaves almost no lacing. Nice hoppy nose, pine, citrus, chocolcate malts. Flavour is of chcoolate malts up front, spicy grapefruity and piney hop flavours. Nice long, lingering bitterness with a grapefruit aftertaste and some slight roasty notes. Medium body, gentle carbonation, general good mouthfeel, enjoyable.

Great balance of the dark flavors with the hops. Just an edge of the burnt over a richer chocolate with some resiny hops. Dark and creamy. Flavors of chocolate, oak, oatmeal cookie.

Pours a very dark brown with a big tan head and a lot of lacing. Nose of citrus and flowers. Full body and a smooth cream mouthfeel. The flavor is roasted malts with chocolate, and and long hop finish with bitterness. A really well crafted Black IPA.

Mahogany pour with hints of chestnut and onyx, a nice khaki head. Dark malt, pine, candied citrus, caramel, toffee, and honey. Solid and drinkable but wish the hops were a bit more pronounced and stood out against the malt profile. Good but not Wookey Jack.
