22. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Plenty of drippy lace. Big tropical fruity nose, tons of forward citric acid showing, very present, very pleasant, very sweet. Creamy medium body. Lively carb. Very much on the sweet side, showing caramel and black bread along with tropical fruit notes. Mild sweet finish. Very agreeable and unchallenging CDA, super approachable and agreeable. pintbypint (3831) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 23, 2011
650ml brown bottle. Very dark brown pour, small tan head which leaves almost no lacing. Nice hoppy nose, pine, citrus, chocolcate malts. Flavour is of chcoolate malts up front, spicy grapefruity and piney hop flavours. Nice long, lingering bitterness with a grapefruit aftertaste and some slight roasty notes. Medium body, gentle carbonation, general good mouthfeel, enjoyable. douglas88 (9628) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 2, 2011
22 ounce bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a totally black color with a medium cream colored head. A sweet fresh hop aroma initially, lots of pine, then a bit of cocoa and toasted malts. A very well done flavor; bitterness, oranges, roast, chocolates, balanced. Very darn good. ksurkin (1021) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - JUL 29, 2011
22oz bottle from marina market. pours a hazy, dark brown, almost black with a thick, creamy, light beige head with sticky rings of lace on the glass. aroma is great with heavy pine esters, herbal hops, and dank grass backed by by dark malts, cocoa powder, toffe malts, and subtle orange citrus with a touch of dark roast as it warms. flavor is delicious as well with bold, herbal hops, pine esters, and grapefruit citrus topped with cinnamon backed by light roast, cocoa, and a touch of toffee. palate is medium bodied with rich carbonation and a hoppy but slightly roasted finish. overall, a damn nice black ipa. Great balance of the dark flavors with the hops. Just an edge of the burnt over a richer chocolate with some resiny hops. Dark and creamy. Flavors of chocolate, oak, oatmeal cookie. BOLTZ7555 (3127) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Mahogany pour with hints of chestnut and onyx, a nice khaki head. Dark malt, pine, candied citrus, caramel, toffee, and honey. Solid and drinkable but wish the hops were a bit more pronounced and stood out against the malt profile. Good but not Wookey Jack. alobar (3914) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, pine, and caramel. Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and a slight hop bite. Creamy with excellent lacing. Really good!
