On tap at the brew pub. Very nice high body black IPA that had a great balance of malt and hops. Great beer. glennmastrange (2884) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 11, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt and hop aromas of toasted and pine resin, light leather for the yeast, with wood, charcoal and tobacco in the background. Heas is small to average, frothy, tan with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear, very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, a little slick with a lively carbonation. A great aroma, but this Black IPA lacks any sweetness. Otherwise it’s true to style. Bomber Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Malty aroma, sweet, kinda roasted, smells like an english brown. Taste: Malty, sweetish, with a mild to moderate hop bitterness, notes of citrus. Warming mouthfeel. Finishes with a grassy sweet bitterness, lots of roasted malt going on here. Good complexity here... quite good.... Rasmus40 (21343) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 23, 2013

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, citrus and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate and citrus fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle, 22oz. It pours a dense, two-finger beige head over an unclear reddish brown body. The aroma has a nice hoppy touch, orange peel and pine cones, with roasted malt notes, chocolate and some coffee. It’s quite bitter in the mouth, full-bodied and faintly warming, with a pleasant carbonation level. Chocolate, roasted malt notes, pine cones and citrus peel flavors, finishing quite bitter and with roasted malts and chocolate. Pleasant one, bet it’s even better just out of the brewery. 131123 Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JAN 13, 2014
(Thanks to Ken for the bomber) Aroma of sweet malts and fruity hops combined with hints of caramel. A mahoney pour with a thin, mostly deminishing, off-white head and moderate lacing. Initially, the taste is sweet malt with nods to toffee, followed by some grain, and concluding in a bitter finish which continues into the aftertaste. Medium body and medium body. Overall, a nice dance of sweet and bitter. AndyW68 (1557) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 28, 2014
