Best beer I’ve ever had. Period. Pairs perfectly with desserts. Poured under nitro, which gives it an incredibly smooth taste. Absolutely delicious!

Dark, creamy stout head with oatmeal, licorice, coffee, and leather on the nose. Burned maltiness and coffee on the tongue. Smooth and heavy. One of the best stouts that I’ve tasted recently.

Rich stout! Cottage cream head, pitch black, 97% opaque, black. Good sweetness. Roast, caramel, chocolate...all very rich and very good. (on tap at brewpub, then growler at home)

On tap at the 2007 GTMW: Pours an opaque black with a frothy, well-lacing light brown head. Aroma of sweet mapley caramel with some earthy dark chocolate. Body starts sweet and fairly rich with good dark caramel and chocolate maltiness along with molasses. A very nice oatmeal stout.

Has some killer aromas, lots of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and caramelized sugar. Taste lives up to the scent, great blend of roasted coffee beans and milk chocolate. Has a nice coating mouth feel, one of my favorite oatmeal stouts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Fitger’s. APPEARANCE- Jet black, light nougat colored head with great lacing. NOSE- deep notes of coffee with a smidge of malty sweetness. FLAVOR- coffee blasts into my mouth my with every sip. Roasty malts prevail as the coffee fades into the distance. After suggestion, I taste a bit of dark chocolate residuals in my mouth.

GABF 2013. Pours a deep brown appearance with a thin brown head. Creamy, coffee, dark chocolate, oaty aroma. Milk, dark chocolate, espresso, a touch fruity flavor with a bit of lingering bitterness. This one was very nice. Would love to drink again.

Had this one on draught as part of the sampler flight at the brewery in Duluth, Minnesota. Opaque, oily brown pour with a thick, light brouwn head, strong bitter cocoa in the nose, with soy sauce, more bitter chocolate throughout. Finished alcoholic but very smooth. Very good!

On tap at the brewhouse. Pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma of mainly roast malt. Taste was chocolately and malty and fairly sweet. Very thick and creamy. Satisfying. One of the better stouts I have come across.
