4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Enjoyed on tap at FOBAB. Served in a my FOBAB taster glass.
A: Pours a very dark black color with a thick, tan head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly leaving behind nice sheets of lace.
S: Bourbon, dark fruits and caramel up front. There is an underlying roasted malt notes that’s paired with some oak in the periphery.
T: Wow. Dark chocolate bitterness and milk chocolate sweetness seem to be going back and forth over the palate. Decadent fudge, smooth bourbon and sweet caramel notes as well.
M: Medium low carbonation with a heavy ad creamy body. Goes down incredibly smooth and highly drinkable for 9.60%.
O: This was sneaky hit for me. I’ve heard great things about this and didn’t even realize it was at the fest until I stumbled across it. I went back for a second pour and I’m glad I did. I’d love to get a bottle of it.

Sampled from bottle @ home shared by Countbeer. Thanks for sharing Kamiel! Opaque very dark brown to black color, average sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, bourbon, loghtly alcohol, some chocolate, some liquor, slightly liquorice. Taste malts, bourbon, some dark fruits, some alcohol, moderately bitter. Medium body although texture seems a bit thinner than I had expected, medium carbonation. Very nice. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2015

10oz sample on tap. Duluth MN
Appearance is dark black. Small tan head.
Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Coconut. Charred barrel notes. Flavor is really nice.
Taste is bitter, chololatey.
Full bodied, rich texture. Long finish. Really nice. neepsntatties (2041) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 20, 2014
Bottle shared by "hannont". Colour...very dark brown with almost no head. Nose...very Bourbon like with notes of brown sugar and cotton candy barrel dregs. Palate...more of the immense oakiness to start the experience, then layers of Bourbon and turbinado with a smidgen of oxidation ( this is a 2010) that actually adds a nice aspect to the flavour profile. Nicely aged!

From old notes, maybe several years ago, marked as bottle 41/70 - My notes are very limited on this one. I think it may have been from the tail end of a RBSG grand tasting. Black pour. Thick, full body. Dominate flavors are bourbon and chocolate. It’s very good and goes down smooth. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 11, 2014

Bottle @ Armin’s house, courtesy of arminjewell and Clevar. Thanks! Pours a black appearance with a thin dark brown head. Quite roasty, earthy, dark chocolate, light whiskey, dark fruity aroma. Coffee, vanilla, slight bourbon, toffee, dessert flavor. Really nice right now. Edmund Edmonds is @tame. Bourbon Edmund Edmonds is @fuckable. mcberko (18956) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 30, 2013
750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is very strong, full of liqueur, vanilla, a little bourbon and red wine. Flavour tastes like a mix of bourbon barrels and red wine barrels, despite the absence of the latter, with secondary notes of chocolate, dark fruits, and liqueur. Quite unusual mix of flavours - certainly not a typical imperial stout, with the vinous notes. Finishes on the vinous notes, with subtle dry tartness. Must be infected, but it somehow works okay. Excellent off-kilter barrel ages impie.
