A full bodied, aromatic Red Rye ale brewed with malted barley, the addition of 20% Rye to the recipe, and with Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe hops. We think the Rye in the recipe gives some dryness and spice, and the hops add a dash of pine and passion fruit, but see what you think, everyone’s taste buds are different. This is an incredibly flavoursome Red Ale, full of lots of interesting tastes and aromas.

Aniela (4216) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2015
From my backlogg: Draught at Cock Tavern, London 2014. Clear amber beer with an offwhite head. Malty caramell bready aroma. Hoppy grassy bready floral and some herbal flavour.

Mortlach (2347) - Rome, ITALY - MAY 30, 2015
On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Deep amber color with a medium and persistent off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, some roasted notes, grass, dirty socks, bad! Flavour is sweet and malty, caramel, light bitter end. Medium body, medium to light carbonation. Forget it!

jjsint (3105) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2015
Gravity cask at the Cambridge Beer Festival 2015. Amber/copper, a bit cloudy. Light aroma with toast, red berry and a hint of pine. The taste though. Wow. Intensely resinous, a sweet spicy hop bomb augmented by the sweet spiciness of the rye. Long, oily, piney finish. Lovely.

Martinus (4601) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2015
Reddish brown amber colour, white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, straw, light herbs. Sweet flavour, caramel. Very fizzy. Sweet finish, paper.
(from draught @ The Cock Tavern, visited during RBESG 2014, London)

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2015
Keg at Jack in the Box, Altrincham. Hazy orange/light red shade. Nice fluffy head, some lacing too. Decent hop character. Pithy, sherbet, zingy fruits. Bit soapy at times. Caramel malty backbone. Slight sweetness lurking amongst the bitterness. Decent amber.

Tonkatruck (42) - SPAIN - APR 22, 2015
Bottle - beer merchants.com Hoppy piney citrus, nice aroma and taste. liked the edge of rye.

wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2015
Bottle, Londis, Penny Lane, Liverpool. Reddish amber pour, with a meek tan head. Some earthy hop and fruit in the beak. Good fruity hops coupled up with some sweet malts and fruits flavour wise, followed by a solid bitter linger in the finish. Some promise here.

richardmackney (3) - Derbyshire, ENGLAND - APR 11, 2015 does not count
Poured reddish brown with a small head. Malty rye as to be expected but quite boozy. Very bitter with a lingering bitterness in the mouth.

olio (10274) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 5, 2015
33 cl bottle. Bottled on 04.03.2015. BBE 04.06.2015.
Pours dark mahogany-red color with a large head. Hops and orange on the nose, mild gooseberry bush, caramel, some malts and bready notes. Bitter malts and orange on the flavor, some hops, hay and bread. Nice hop profile, otherwise a bit boring.
