Available in bottle and keg seasonally. Hook Island Red is a robust red Rye ale with Chinook, Columbus and Simcoe hops. A hefty 20% of the malt make-up is rye, lending dryness and spice notes to the brew. Combined with pine and passion fruit flavours of the American hops, this is a complex, idiosyncratic brew that is a special part of our range.

Medium sweet flavor with lots of rich wholegrain bread, bitter pine, some juicy and oily grass, berries, rindy citrus, general ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and massaging texture. Bitter finish with lots of lightly dried, bready malts, some caramel, earth and pine, dried citrus fruits, orange rind. Good stuff. Got some teeth it does.
