Great drop. Not quite hitting the heights of others in the style but very passable. Quality stuff.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 11.04.2018, bottled on 11.04.2016 achetée à WholeFoods, London.

First thought - finally a good Imperial porter in the UK. Smokiness very subdued, in the background. Aftertaste sort of outstays its welcome though.

Keg at Euston Tap. Gorgeous beer! Jet black appearance tan head. Fills the nose with the most anticipating smokiness. Immediately the palate just sinks into the mouth. Coffee and rich bitterness but so luxurious. Where has this been all my life!?!? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brewery. Aromas of peat smoke, dried tobacco leaf and marinated Bretty wet oak. Salty and smoky with notes of red fruit, liquorice, a little dark cocoa and some treacle toffee. Finishes smoky-sweet, with a little salted smoked ham emerging.

On keg at Cloisters. Appearance - deep brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee and smoke. Nuts in the vicinity. Taste - hazelnuts and toffee Praline. The smoke follows through on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a dry smoky middle section and end. Overall - good. Great brewer.
