Opaque dark brown beer with a good fluffy tan head. Palate is light, airy and semi dry. Fine prickly carbonation. Robust dark malts with a touch of roast. Mild malt cream. Minerals. Mellow hop bitterness before the dry finish. Mild malt bitter linger. Standard stuff, done well.
Bottle on the train to the airport on the way to Rome with sister Nellie. Looks great: a deep brown with a large, frothy beige cap and good lacing. Nose of burnt peanuts, roasted malts, ash. Light sweet flavor with burnt malts, burnt toast and earth, minerals, ash and faint cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, good and bitter, with further roast, more ash and minerals. Perhaps a touch watery at times but overall fair. Theydon_Bois (21480) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2013

Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus @ Dutchdrebus 3000 ratings tasting. Opaque pitch black color, full sized light brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is kind of weak, expected it to be stronger: malts, lightly hops, lightly roasty. Taste roasted malts, lots of coffee and bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice!
