3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Welcome relief from almost two weeks of lagers. Decent coffee aroma, thick mouthfeel and a great black colour. Very tasty .
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2017 Larnaka 23/7 2017. 33 cl bottle from Metro. Very Black and white label ensuring I understand that this is a Novelty: a dark beer. Pours bubbly dark brown with off-white head. Settles as thin lonely Island of foam. No Lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, chlorine and quite metallic. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is very sweet. Almost no bitterness present. Aftertaste is sweet caramel. I miss a little bitter edge - but a nice diversion from the endless amount of pale Lagers ruling Cyprus. rumore (533) - Rimini, ITALY - JUL 12, 2017
From 33cl bottle at To Steki, Bologna, Italy. Pours completely black with evanescent white foam. Aroma is mostly licorice and roasted, some caramel. Body is average with intense carbonation filing your mouth. Taste has some sweetness, and moderate bitterness, also traceable to the roasted malt. Finish is short and clean apparently, but some residual bitterness stays around pleasantly. kryon (3553) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 6, 2017

Pours a deep brown color that looks totally black in the glass. A big frothy off-white to beige head.
Aroma of roasty malts and the slightest bit of coffee.
Taste is decently roasty and coffee. Roasty malty sweetness in the finish.
Watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Not a bad black lager. schavuitje (266) - APELDOORN, NETHERLANDS - JUN 3, 2017

Bottle 0.33l in Metana, Greece. 05.08.2016. Pour it dark color with small white head. Aroma roasted malt. Taste nice balanced of roasted malt, little bit sweet feel, nice balanced at the end, really surprised with this one, light body, slick feel, average carbonation. Can. 5.2%. Best before 06.16 – 3 months past. Pours a dark, chestnut brown, with a diminishing tan head. Bit of lacing. Malty aroma with a roasted/mild burnt note. Hint of bread as it warms. A bit weak. Flavour is sweetish, with malt, fruit and light hops. Dark fruit note as it warms. Medium bitter finish with fruit and a light metallic note. Lingering light tart note along with a grassy one. Overall decent, if nothing special. 27.09.16. Sigmund (7532) - Tau, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2016
330 ml bottle (twice, actually) at Restaurant Coconut, Rhodos. ABV is 5.2%. Has none of the characteristics of a Dunkel, this is a Schwarzbier. Black colour, beige head. Medium roasty and fairly dry aroma and flavour, mild coffee notes. One of the better schwarzbiers I’ve had. 47574xeCD (1133) - Coventry, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2016
330ml Bottle from Corfu.
