COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppier than its English cousins this American amber ale will have you saying “Jolly good show” when the maltiness rolls across the palate and locks fingers with the spicy hop finish. Hopped to the top end of the style, Flat12’s amber ale maintains its composed American character throughout. ABV: 5.8% IBU: 42.7

Appearance is medium white head with clear amber. Aroma is sweet. Taste is a little sweet malt with slight hoppy bitterness. Overall pretty solid.

Pours reddish brown, with off white head. Basically a sweet malt aroma, a bit of some nuttiness. Flavor is more of the sweet malt and nut. Maybe some caramel. Something is just cant place it. Not bad.

Bottle... Clear burnt-amber ale with a ridiculously huge, frothy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. Either this is over-carbonated or it’s in the early stages of infection. The nose boasts caramel, nuts and toast. Full-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is bittersweet -more bitter than sweet - with caramel and citrus rinds really standing out. Lengthy, metallically bitter finish. Overall, this beer is disjointed. The rindy, metallic bitterness doesn’t meld at all with the caramel sweetness. They are entirely separate, ill-timed components. However, despite its flaws, I actually enjoyed this one overall. The entirety is definitely greater than its fragmented parts. I can’t for the life of me remember who provided this one, but thanks.

Decent amber. Very roasty and malt forward. Toast, bread crust, nuts and dark grains. Subtle sweetness. Mild grassy bitterness. Somewhat drying.

Acknud (1081) - Morganfield, Kentucky, USA - OCT 24, 2012
Pours medium brown with a small head. The aroma is light roasted malt. Taste is hopper than I would have expected in an amber.

tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head, no lace/some retention. Aroma of raisin, nuts, cherry, mild pine. Taste is sweet, raisin, cherry, nut, husk. Palate is soft, slick, lightly bitter finish.

GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 12, 2012
355mL thanks to tastybeer. Pours a full haze deeper brune with reddish tea highlights. Medium, creamy, buttermilk head. Good retention. Webby, big lacing. Nose is vegetal, metallic, spoiled cherry juice box. Taste is bland, husky, hydrogen peroxide, metals, bitter chemicals. No good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

wickster (85) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Poured a dark amber in color into a pint glass from 12oz bottle. Almost no aroma, but an OK flavor. Good malt hits the tongue followed with a nice amounts of bitters at the end. Overall a pretty good brew.

Boothead (26) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Dark amber ale. Uninteresting aroma but tingle pallet and smooth flavor. Consider drinking with sweets!

3.4
screigh (737) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 26, 2012
Pours a ruby brown color. Very thin head that left no lacing. Malty aroma. Taste is malty, nutty and finishes with the perfect amount of bitterness.
