To long-stemmed red wine glass, it pours an effervescentstraw yellow with which a sudsy, champagne-forward head 3 fingers in length stod.
Aromas of cilantro, musky aged hops/gym socks, celery, blanched brocoli, German malts, and bread yeast.
Tastes much the same with the addition of damp newspaper, sweat, and unripe kumquat. Cucumber, wax, and cotton experienced by swallow.
Intriguing, but also very strange. Probably would have liked it more had the cucumber flavor weren’t so prominent at its finish.
Very difficult to serve in a glass because of the high gas amount. It took me 10 minutes to pour one bottle into a glass because of the foam volume. Drinking from the bottle was interesting and refreshing. This was my first cucumber beer. Drinking from the glass after the massive foam experience was not as tasty- it was flatter after the gas had escaped. When I drink the beer from the bottle, it’s one of the best light ales I’ve had for months. It will probably taste even better during the hot summer days. hopscotch (11175) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2014
Bottle... Pours clear and yellow with a huge, rocky, white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma features huge, freshly sliced cucumber. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor boasts refreshing cucumber up front and then bitter, rindy, tannic hops on the backside. Mid-length, bitter, gherkin finish. Bottle courtesy of StFun! Draft - Sweetness and cucumber. Pale gold with a decent white head. Cucumber, herbal bitterness and a long bitter finish. Not good. chinchill (5159) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 7, 2014
12 oz bottle.
Pale golden color with a fine white head.
Mild, lightly hoppy and vegetative aroma.
The flavor has a pronounced and clear cucumber note. Worth trying just for this.

12 oz. bottle from Big Red Liquors in Carmel, IN. Awesome fresh, vegetal cucumber aroma from a fairly clear pale yellow body with a sudsy white head that regenerates with every swirl of the glass. Cucumber juice is the first flavor that hits and is obvious but not overdone in any way. This is followed by a hay-like dryness and barnyard funk similar to a Saison. I would have guessed this to be a Saison if I didn’t know it was a Kolsch. The carbonation gives this a creaminess that lasts to the last sip (and keeps that nice white head going strong). The finish is dry with more cucumber and hay. This might be labeled one dimensional in some ways, but that dimension is deilcious! Very refreshing and this is really a treat if you like fresh cucumber flavor. Wish I could get this out here regularly in CA, but I’ll have to settle for picking it up in Indy next time I’m visiting! cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2013
Poured from 12oz bottle, clear light yellow with a huge fizzy head, the aroma is of straight cucumber, it almost smells like cooked asparagus as well, the flavor is horrible, tons of cucumber and salt, really couldn’t even finish it after one sip, I guess they got what they wanted, but jeez, could have toned it down a little. I’m looking forward to their pickle kolsch next. jsmerig (1656) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2013
On tap a the brass rail. Pours a clear pale yellow. Aroma is slightly citrus. Taste is tea like with a really pronounced bitter finish.
