Wow, when they say cucumber, they don’t just mean notes of cucumber or hints of cucumber. It tastes like liquified and lightly salted cucumber. I’m fine with that, but I prefer crunchy solid cucumbers and not weird beer juice. 574deadzone (1419) - North Central, Indiana, USA - SEP 8, 2013
Pours a pale clear straw golden with a huge over-carbonated rocky, fluffly, and slowly diminishing eggshell head. Lots of bubbles present in the body. Nose involves soft grain and prominent cucumber with a touch of noble hop spice. Really sweet flavor, fairly bitter, and quite salty. Fizzy light body, somewhat oily and slick, stinging with salt, finishing twangy and salty. Any typical soft bread kolsch aromas are drowned out by the annoying cucumber. This was a really weird beer. After struggling to get half way through it, I made a chelada out of the rest and that was also not good. As salty as this beer turned out, they should have made a cucumber gose instead. I had to wash my mouth out with an Old Style. Shorts Bloody Beer was a much better experiment than this. SpringsLicker (3677) - Tennessee, USA - AUG 30, 2013
Clear medium yellow body with a fleeting white head.
Aroma of fresh cucumbers.
The flavor is more cucumbers. I don’t really care for cucumbers, but this delivers what is says it is quite well. No real hops come forward here or malts either. Crisp and clean.

This one pours super pale clear yellow. Aroma is straw like clean malts and acutally does smell of cucumbers and honestly i think it does smell of a touch of dill. somewhat full body and again a fresh vegetable flavor mixed in. This was acutally pretty decent but I think the base beer would be absolutely fantastic on a hot day. Glad to try this.
Gets stranger and stranger as i get through the glass.
Damnit, it tastes like pickles! AcctError131151 (121) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 15, 2013
Bottle. I’d been interested in trying to make a cucumber beer for a while, so I’m glad I tried this first and realized I would likely be wasting my time. It looked beautiful in the glass, but the aroma and flavor of cucumber was overwhelming and did not mesh with the beer much at all. It’s a shame, because I can tell that this was a good base beer. The cucumber flavor is vaguely off-putting.

On tap at Yogi’s, Bloomington. Bright golden pour, plenty of crisp carbonation. Cuke is pretty strong in the nose, mild grain underneath. Light palate, crisp and session able throughout. I certainly enjoy the cucumber infusion just fine, but it seems to obscure the kolsch rather than enhance it. And from what I can tell it’s a pretty bland base. Good twist on a quaffer though. tnkw01 (1800) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Tap. This stuff is nasty. I just don’t think that cucumber and beer should be together. Gold color. Taste and smells like cucumber. nearbeer (5600) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 25, 2013
On tap. Clear golden with a small covering of creamy bubbles. Nose is fresh cut cucumber. Tastes of cucumber with hints of honey-toasted grain and grass. Light-medium body has average carbonation and is to the sweet side. I appreciate the art that went into this, and it’s everything you would expect from the name, but it would be much better with some subtlety about the cucumber. Still not nearly as bad as the cheap Mexican lager with a Jalapeno sitting in it.

I get the "cucumber" part, because it has a lot of cucumber character to it. It’s the "kolsch" part that seems weird. Nice assertive cucumber aroma and flavor, and a hint of malty sweetness. There is also a hint of hop bite at the end which is kind of unexpected but nice. I enjoyed this probably way more than I should have. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUL 17, 2013
Bottle: Pours a clean straw hue with a mostly lasting frothy head. The aroma has notes of cucumber, wet grains, DMS, mineral water. The taste is displays a nice cucumber character but the pronounced cooked veggie notes of the DMS is a bit much and distracts. Grainy and not all that clean, it is refreshing on a hot summer day however. The 1st time I tried this I didn’t notice the DMS overtones as much as today. Guess that is what happens when you add vegetable to a beer style that does often have a vegetable note already.
