Draft to taster at Flat 12. Looks good; a semi-transparent brown with light-beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt and winter spices; no ham or smoke though. Tastes like it smells with some roast as well. Less balanced though. Average on the palate. Not bad, but misnamed, and smells better than it tastes. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish red pour with tan head, aroma brought big cinnamon, nutmeg, dark fruit, roast, some chocolate, hints of caramel and toffee. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, dark fruit, dark sugars into big cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice type notes, finishing spicy. hotstuff (5201) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 19, 2014
Rated on 12-31-2011. This draft beer has a small tan head that is fully lasting, opaque dark brown body and one ring of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, sweet and spicy. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable and worth trying. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 30, 2012

Growler. Deep brown color with just a whisp of khaki colored bubbles. Aroma is surprisingly filled with Christmas spices. Clove, all spice, chocolate in the aroma. Pretty well balanced. Lightly spiced flavor and is mainly chocolate and roast coffee. Medium bodied with a lightly roasted malt finish. Pretty interesting, but I see this as being more of a beer I would want paired with food. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Smells a good game, taste falls flat. Sweet and very spicy aroma, more like pastrami. Flavor is more akin to brown ale with a little bit of cinnamon. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 25, 2012
tap (dec 22, 2011) - Pours very dark brown with a small tan head and a mild roasted malt aroma. It tastes of dark roast malt and chocolate with a hint of spice in the background. It’s medium to full bodied and has a roast coffee finish. Good porter. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 11, 2012
Pork products, yo. Thanks to StFun for the hookup - cut! that! meat! Gratuitous 18 reference aside, this was a solid as hell beer. Dark brown pour, moderately carbonated, and a nice smooth body. Nose was initially fairly generic spice, reminiscent of Anchor OSA. But as you get further into the beer, the solid, mildly roasty porter does benefit from the glazed notes and I found myself thinking less of Christmas ham and more of that top layer of ribs when they’re got a crisped up. Yummy stuff. shrubber85 (11506) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Bottle. Gentian root and light chocolate malt aroma. Black color with slight head. Bitter sweet gentian, mild smoked ham, and chocolate malt flavor. Nice body and blending. Unique.
