The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of “the cycle”, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It’s a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

A - Pours a golden straw color with 1 finger of white head that dissipates pretty quick. Vertical streaks of lacing left on the glass. S - Dank concentrated herbal hops, some floral. Smells like cannabis. Not getting much else. T - Follows up the nose with crunchy herbal hops, dried pine needles, floral purfume, dry cereal malt barely shows up but doesn’t stand a chance against the hops. Finishes bitter and very dry. M - Slick and oily feel, medium carbonation that drops off. It’s good for 1 pint. The dry herbal hops just wreck your palate. Good if you’re in the mood for an herbal hop bomb. Decadently hopped beer! Big pine flavor and bitterness. Some citrus and tropical too, but pine dominates. Nose is a little light, but has something herbal that is interesting. Very bitter lingering finish. Not much by way of balance, almost detracting from drinkability. One of the hoppiest single IPAs I've come across!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy copperish color with a huge off-white head on it. Nose is quite floral with some nice piney elements as well. Taste is somewhat bitter, but feels very light on the tongue, though slightly overcarbonated. I quite like the taste of this...

Orange pour with white head and lace. Aroma is resiny hops, bready, and some citrus. Flavor is resiny bitter, light malt, and a clinging bitter finish. Medium bodied and a tad fizzy.

Race weekend! Bitter IPA with citrus taste. Not too hoppy and pretty smooth. Will get again when around Indiana again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is one hoppy bastard! Cloudy golden color with an orange peel smell.Hop grapefruit taste with strong pine on the back that lingers for a few seconds! If you like hoppy try this.

DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2013
Sample from a 12oz bottle, at DLD 2013. Mostly hazy golden orange color. Good thin white head. Lots of particles in the body. Dots of lace. Medium-plus body. Good lightly dry carbonation. Good smooth lightly dry texture. Citrus nose, kind of rindy. Bitter taste. Lightly zesty. Little spicy hop. Mostly bitter taste. Big flavor for the 6%... Solid IPA

Bleh...tasted like it didn’t finish fermenting. Hops weren’t balanced or distinguishable, and didn’t dry out at the finish. Many, many better IPAs out there.

Poured into a shaker from a 12 oz bottle. A clear orange yellow in the glass with a moderately persistent white, 2 cm head. The aroma is resinous, spicy, more piney than citrusy. The taste is a balanced, multidimensional bitterness backed by just enough sweetness to create a medium body. I’ll have another, thanks.

reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2013
Pours a slightly hazy gold with a thick white head...light sediment throughout...nice retention. Aroma has light citrus rind...very faint aroma. Flavor has some citrus rind and faint fruit...very herbal in the back end. Mouthfeel is light and very lively with a piney/resinous/herbal and bitter dry finish. Not a bad beer but not a good IPA either for my tastes.
