The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of the cycle, and this IPA is a heavy hitter. Its a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character thats a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, this big boy is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel. ABV: 6% IBU: 104.1

Pours red with a lot of head. High carbonation with bitter after taste. Not a great hop flavor.

Opened the bottle and the majority of beer immediately turned into foam, poured it into 3 glasses to get it out of the bottle. About 15 minutes later it was starting to settle and I scooped out some of the foam so I could finally taste it. Well it was not worth the wait and mess, had a little citrus taste with mild hoppiness and was very over carbonated. It was like drinking a hoppy sprite.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2016 Light golden color. Nice head that holds and lacing. Plenty of hops though a bit too much carbonation on tap at the Louisville marriott On tap at brewery. Really crisp bitter hops. Goes well with the Phillips sub

Really overcarbonated. Tried to pour into glass and got nothing but foam. Tried to drink from bottle and the contents erupted into foam. Bad. Bottle has 1121 printed on it.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. The Half Cycle IPA pours a mostly cloudy yellowish orange with a thin ivory head that doesnt last too long. The aroma is loaded with hops! I can pick up citrus, favoring the orange, pine, a healthy dosage of caramel and even a bit of honey. The flavor is caramel up front, but that is quickly dominated by the citrus and pine hops, orange and bread. Overall this is a pretty nice beer.

12 oz Bottle. Appearance is clear, amber color with medium, off-white head. Aroma is heavy citrus and pine hops. Taste is way over the top bitter. Citrus grapefruit and pine dominant the taste that has little malt balance. Palate is medium-bodied, slick texture, and dry almost astringent finish. Im a fan of hoppy beers but this one just felt like it was trying to be bitter for bitter sake -- no naunce whatsoever. Disappointing.

Had on tap in Indy. White head, nice amber appearance. Citrus and pine aroma. For 100+ IBU I was expecting a bigger punch, must say a little disappointed but not a bad IPA.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2015 I wanted to like this. I hope I got a skunked one. Draft pour at high velocity in Indy. Bright orange cloudy with sticky white head. I knew from the dank skunky fruity aroma it wasnt going to taste good. And it didnt. Super bitter. Just tastes like bitter rotten fruit 2 days later - at flat 12 and having this again. Bartender did tell me it was off that night and it does taste better from tap here

From notes. Tasted on 10/21/12 from a capped 12oz bottle. Pours clear pale orange with an average white head that leaves average lace. The nose is very hoppy with tons of resin, citrus, grapefruit peel, and a touch of tropical fruit. The flavor is more simple with the grapefruit peel dominating, and it is difficult to detect much else but some bread malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long, bitter finish.

Pour out of 16 oz can at the brewery, hazy yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought pine, grass, big spicy hops, lots of caramel as well with a hint of biscuit. Taste is a mix of orange, big caramel, toffee, hints of pine, touch of earth, some spice into a bitter finish. Eh, there is definitely a soapy quality to this.
