Draft at brewpub. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texturearbonation. Medium toasted milk sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Good drinkable brew.

A rounded, sweet, chocolatey stout that has a pleasant mouthfeel and is easily drinkable. shrubber85 (11618) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Tap at source. Chocolate malt and light smoky aroma. Dark black color with small brown head. Sweet milk chocolate malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Very nice. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 27, 2013
355mL thanks to tastybeer! Much better label artwork on this one. Pours clear deep red. Doesn’t really want to produce a sizeable head. Bubbles remain. Nose is muted, milk chocolate, heavy cream, pretty nice. Taste is mega earth, soil, lemon, tart. Thin, tart. Perhaps some sort of bitter chocolate and cream in there. Not my favorite, but drinkable. After warming up, next pour gives it a better head with better retention. Taste gets a little richer, lemon tartness goes away and so does the earth/soil harshness. Palate gets pretty spot on. Nice! Let it warm up. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 2, 2014
4oz on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Dark brown color, near black from a distance. Thin off-white head, leaving good ropes of lace. Kind of clear brown color around the edges. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Kind of darker chocolate, good bigger roastiness for a milk stout. Moderate sweet taste, good light bitter balance. A solid milk stout.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a lighter cola with thin lacing that’s somewhere between off-white and light beige. Smells f dark malt and dark chocolate. Tastes like it smells with some roast as well. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable. drowland (9078) - Georgia, USA - MAR 6, 2014
2/28/14. On tap at the Louisville Beer Store. Black pour with a nice tan head, lasts for awhile and laces well. Toasty aroma, nutty, mild roasted malts, some dark chocolate and coffee. Good flavor, mild roasted malts, dark and milk chocolates, some coffee. Slick mouthfeel. Not bad. drfabulous (8591) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - MAR 19, 2014
12 ounce bottle at Black Market. Big black pour with little carbonation. Chocolate and almost porter like. Thin in body. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2011
Sampled on tap at the brewery (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a murky blackish hue, some lighter brown edges with small frothy tannish head laces small. Aromas are touches of sweet lactose sugars, light roasted malts, a touch of cocoa, vanilla, irish soda bread, and some sweeter toffee, coffee grounds, coffee and cream. Initial is medium bodied, preaching sweeter coffee and cream, roasted barley, soda bread, vanilla cream, light cocoa, coffee grounds, some toffee, biscuits. Sweeter slanted, vanilla and cream cut into the roasted malts, a bit heavy, but tasty. An ok sweet stout, a bit heavy on the milky sugar for me as it covers up most of the roast. But that’s personal preference. Pretty sweet overall, but that’s how some people roll in their Milk Stout preferences. It reminds me of Dunk-a-Roos frosting from my youth. It’s a good beer, just more for a sweet minded drinker ben4321 (6739) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 6, 2014
Location: 12 oz bottle from Andy by way of trade, 11.6.14
Aroma: The aroma is clean and malty, roast, lactose, fairly light aroma overall
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head and light, drippy lacework
Flavor: The flavor is clean and malty too, not super sweet, but pretty malty, with a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light, leaning medium’s way, soft carbonation, and a light dry finish
I found this to be a solid example of the style. The aroma and flavor are both on the lighter side, but both are still solid. The lightness of the body works nicely actually, and the smoothness add to the drinkability. Pretty solid stuff.
