Draft to snifter at Ei8ht Ball. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have big dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, bourbon works well with the base beer, vanilla, dark fruit, cherry, smooth mouthfeel, some char bitterness to the finish, I think this does a solid job meshing all the flavors. Solid. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2015
10oz on tap at Ei8ht Ball, for $5. Labeled on the menu as "Flat 12 BA Pinko", 11%. Very nice bigger chocolate, molasses, touch of coffee, some vanilla, mild spice, dark fruit, touch of tobacco. Nearly pitch black color. Thin tan head. Decent bits of lace. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, lighter bitterness. Mild touch of warmth. Solid BA RIS. Bit of lingering sweetness on the end though. Draft pour. The beer is a dark brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma is big on vanilla, oak, coconut, toffee, and caramel. The taste is super sweet and boozy. Big body, thick mouthfeel, and low carbonation. Great beer. Tmoney99 (14622) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 16, 2015

Moderate to heavy dark sweet toasted malt flavor with a moderate to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Draft at Ei8ht Ball, labeled as Flat 12 BA Pinko. Pours an opaque brown with a small tan head that leaves a thick ring behind. Notes of roasted malts, oak, burnt sugar, toast, tobacco, vanilla, and chocolate. Just a bit of dark fruits, too. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, rich, uneven mouthfeel and low carbonation. Roasty up front, then gets sweeter on the finish and more as it warms. Feels a bit lacking and maybe old, too. Dogbrick (13145) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2015
Sample from growler at KurtKeller 021: Pappy-tastic 01 on 03/06/2015. The beer pours an inky black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oaky bourbon, dark chocolate and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky vanilla, bourbon, coffee and malt. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and chocolate malt aftertaste. Good beer all around. edgallow (4218) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 23, 2014

Howler. Thanks to josh for remembering my request from a long ways back... Vessel opens with a hiss and yields a smooth deeper the cola hue with reddish auburn edges and a thin film of light beige head... Aroma of smooth rich fudgey and silky barrel notes. Barrel is apparent but meshes extremely well with the tones of chocolate... Flavors are more of the same with a heavily pronounced bitter charred midway through and more towards the backend. Hints of burnt marshmallow developing a nice rapport with the barrel. Just above medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Well-executed. Char is just a bit too aggressive overall.
