COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Flat12 Porter is inspired by the robust porters favored by the Industrial-age working men of Europe. We chose to emphasize balance from a combination of dark grains including brown malt, which was the primary roasted grain of the time. This Flat12 creation is smooth and balanced with slight roast and chocolate notes, yet it’s not heavy, just like a good porter should be. ABV: 5.5% IBU: 34.1

Minimal dark tan head. Dark as black coffee body. Smells of chocolate. Tastes of some coffee and hints of chocolate. Smooth with a harsh finish that lessens as it warms.

Flaska. Gigantiskt skum som tar evigheter att lägga sig tillräckligt för att det ska bli en drickbar öl. Dofter och smaker av choklad, karamell, rostad malt, brunt socker och torkad frukt. För söt för min del.

Poured into a perfect pint. Bottle. 5.0 A: Medium brown color. Two and a half fingers of pillowy tan head. Retention is very, very good and glass covering lacing is left. Been a while since I’ve seen an appearance this good. 3.75 S: Cocoa powder is the most plentiful of smells. Dry toastiness with moderate roast. Caramel in layers with hints of molasses. 3.5 T: Taste is good too, but not as good as the nose. Toasty with cocoa powder, caramel. Basically like the nose, but less pronounced. 3.0 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking creaminess but otherwise fine. 3.5 D: Decent beer. Worth a try. ★ 633 characters DavoleBomb, Mar 01, 2015

Bottle thanks to NeoHippie2. Pours inky black with large spongy beige head, mocha aroma, medium carbonation, thin body, lightly bitter coffee beans taste, slight chocolaty sweetness, medium bitter mocha finish. A bit watery but tasty.

12 oz. bottle split three way; from Liquor Barn (Middletown Commons). Aroma: Coffee with cream; rich chocolate presence. Pleasant and lighter than I remember. Appearance: Black pour with a sticky tan head that sticks around. Flavor: Coffee and cream up front with more chocolate towards the lingering finish, which dries out pretty well. Palate: Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: I could get into this; a lighter, but flavorful take on the style.

APPEARANCE ? appears black until held to the light, then very dark brown becomes apparent. NOSE ? the roastiness of the brew comes through in the first whiff. Very appetizing. FLAVOR ? as the beer warms, the roastiness of the porter comes through. Very deep flavors for a porter, yet there?s smooth finish to look forward to.

Black with a tall tan head. Lovely roasted malt and coffee notes up front followed by earth and a hint of fruit. Full flavored. Hearty and delicious porter.

Tailspin ale fest. Has a really intense coco nib flavor. Good but a little over powering.
