Pretty solid stout. Sweet and chocolately. Really smooth with hints of vanilla in the finish. kambei70 (1107) - - DEC 26, 2014
On tap at brewery. Black, dense tan head, looks nitrogen infused. Big meaty umami smell, some brewed coffee. Taste is big roasty, bordering on burnt. Some coffee little bitterness. A slight vegetal taste underneath. Velvet smooth, soft mouthfeel.

This beer pours an opaque black color with a creamy medium tan head, and the aroma blends oatmeal, roasted malts, chocolate malts, and a hint of vanilla. The taste has a light malt bitterness alongside a mild sweetness with a roasy aftertaste. The palate fuses a thick and creamy texture, medium body, and a carbonation that is light but smooth due to the nitro tap. AbbeyRoade (549) - Missouri, USA - AUG 11, 2014
The best beer at Flat Branch. Incredibly smooth and creamy. Glides down the throat just as if it was oil. Nice sweet taste with some chocolate and coffee notes. Good all around. gregwilsonstl (2613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 5, 2014
Dark black. Roasted almost burnt. Sweet almost like extract. Creamy head. Too light for me to rate higher.

GABF Dark brown pour, brown head. Nice roasty, cocoa, lactose sugar nose. Sweet up front, just enough roast, very smooth and silky. Huhzubendah (3736) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 1, 2012
On draft at the source. Great appearance. Near black with a creamy beige head. The aroma brings subtle notes of chocolate, hints of bread. A rather weak scent. The flavor is more robust, with chocolate character emerging atop a lightly toasted malt body. Smooth and creamy feel. Quite easy to drink. A solid example of the style.

sample at brewpub black with reddish head that leaves quickly, smells of roasted malts and chocate slight alcohol smell when warmer. A toasted nutty base topped with more like bakesrs choclate than hops
